It stinks that some malcontents want the place to be bare. (What kind of monument would one erect to atheism. A giant vacuum bottle?)
If the cross has to move, it should be sold to some private party who will move it to another spot as “legally” close to its present site as practical.

To be accurate here, the USSC should bear the blame for the completely incomprehensible “standards” and tests it has devised to determine the so-called wall of separation between church and state. The USSC judicial activists, aka evolving constitution nutjobs, wanted to open a 1st Amendment can of worms here, and they have. Unfortunately, the individual justices aren’t even consistent with their OWN prior rulings. If the 9th Circus has wiggle room, you can thank the jerks on the USSC for it.
