Chengdu J-XX [J-20] Stealth Fighter Prototype: A Preliminary Assessment
Air Power Australia ^ | January 3, 2011 | Dr. Carlo Kopp and Peter Goon

Posted on 01/04/2011 11:44:27 AM PST by EnjoyingLife

"Any notion that an F-35 Joint Strike Fighter or F/A-18E/F Super Hornet will be capable of competing against this Chengdu design in air combat, let alone penetrate airspace defended by this fighter, would be simply absurd. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and F/A-18E/F Super Hornet are both aerodynamically and kinematically quite inferior to the as presented J-XX/J-20 design, and even the shape based VLO capability in the J-XX/J-20, as presented, will effectively neutralise any sensor advantage either type might possess against earlier Russian and Chinese fighter designs."

Notice how there is no mention of the F-22 in that statement. The thing looks like a dinosaur. Seriously.

The Chinese don’t seem to be taking any pains in securing these tests from long-range telephoto lenses. My guess is that this is an intelligence tease.

Who's handling the PR for this Commie fighter that's never flown mush less fought.. and for those Red Chinese anti-carrier missiles. Boy? Is that PR firm good at achieving ubiquity.

People of America.. give up! Red China has plans for future weapons that we cannot overcome.. not even god can stop then . . . .

.. I wonder. Is it the same PR firm that's handling the destruction of the U.S. Navy (tail hook again!) because of a couple of comedic anti-gay remarks in a video? Gay activists were just waiting for the end of DADT to use this to launch the destruction process. I bet.

Horse hockey! The pipes on that mock up will light up a radar like a Festivus tree and they make a dandy Sidewinder target too.

Notice how the article is from Air Power Australia, and the RAAF flies the F/A-18E/F and will fly the F-35A, but cannot buy the F-22.

This article is written from the Australian defense point of view.

The F-18? They’re comparing their latest and greatest to a plane we designed over 30 years ago?

I predict them losing one to adverse yaw within a year.

As reported in last weeks flurry of J-20 threads. The J-20 has progressed to "high-speed taxi" tests. It has not yet flown.

This fighter is coming from a country that can’t make a decent automobile, they put melamine in their kids’ milk, they put lead in their kids’ toys, they pee in the same water they drink, and their government isn’t even trusted by their government.

I’m really not worried about this POS being much of a threat to anyone.

"They're" not comparing anything to anything. This is the Australians talking, and the reason they are mentioning the F-18 is that is the aircraft (and maybe a few F-35s) they are likely to be using to defend against these Chinese planes in the future.
