Leftists have to constantly relabel themselves because their ideology is repugnant to decent people.

Useful information becomes associated with any label that they choose, be it the Wilson era “progressive” who was a Nazi sympathizer, a 60’s - 90’s “liberal” who is a socialist, or a 2000+ “progressive” [again] who is an avowed racist/Marxist.

This information is useful is determining who the people DON’T want in power, so the left has to constantly re-label to destroy the information.

The Nazis were all about human "progress", too. Zyklon-B showers and crematoria were simply considered part of the effort. And what was more "progressive" than Mao's Cultural Revolution - let a thousand flowers bloom! And they did - over mass graves largely unreported in the cheerleading Western press.

Of course, that can't happen here - our Progressives have much more humane intentions, as demonstrated by their plan to force seniors into end-of-life counseling by regulatory fiat. It's voluntary, you know.
