A look at the growing Marxist movement in New York City. Even though they read Marx and Stalin, organize protests against Israel and play a board game that equates capitalism with barbarism, they shy away from calling themselves “socialist”. As one member puts it, “It’s more positive to say progressive or left.”
Another good way to upset a modern “progressive.” Point out that the early progressives were also bloodthirsty warmongers.
That video is highly instructive.
It clearly shows you that although they have the same basic moronic ideology of Marx.
[They even have some writings from Stalin thrown in for good measure.]
They are trying to pretend it is something else.
Something else that has been complete a failure each time it has been tried.
They are very justly despised.
I say we call them losers the don’t understand history any way.
A practical guide to leftism. That is, what are the constants of leftism, no matter the labels used, or the effort to parse themselves into different, competing groups.
1) Leftists are internationalists. They imagine that all people are identical, and that there is no need for nations, religion, culture or history. As such, leftists will *never* be patriotic, or truly believe in a religion, or enjoy or admire their culture. As far as history goes, it is their great enemy, so along with their nation, religion, and culture, they will always seek to undermine and destroy them. Importantly, at the international level there is a “Socialist International”, which is a league of national political parties that lend aid and assistance to other leftist political parties against other political parties in their nation. For example, the Democrat party in the US openly assists the British Labour Party, in an effort to subvert democratic processes in Britain.
2) Leftists know that what they want is rejected by other people, who far outnumber them. And while they are convinced that eventually they can force their beliefs on others, often by indoctrinating their children, they know they must continually lie, to deceive those that disagree with them.
Sometimes, like during the Clinton years, their lying is very orderly and done in a regimented manner. The administration capably directed hundreds of leftists to *only* talk about four agenda items, and to also rigidly follow a list of about a dozen techniques, in a particular order, to thwart criticism of the administration.
Other than that, leftists cultivate logorrhea, the pathological monopolization of conversation, to ignore what is said by others and to continue to talk over others. Noam Chomsky is a master of this, and will talk continuously for hours, indifferent to content, which is often irrational and meaningless, solely to prevent others from talking.
3) Leftists embrace idealism in its truest form. That is, as an effort to bring about, by whatever means, ideal ends. Thus they often oppose other points of view, like realism, pragmatism, cynicism, stoicism, skepticism, and spiritualism. And they attack these points of view much like they would attack other things that stand in their way. This can be heard in their criticisms of others.
Importantly, the idealism of leftists can either be optimistic idealism or pessimistic idealism, but in either case demands that the world we live in today, and all people, must be changed to become more as they want it, and them, to become.
And this can be murderous beyond genocide. Several times communist-leftists have tried to kill every person who was not “perfect” in their sight, such as Pol Pot’s killing fields in Cambodia.
But make no mistake, even among the “liberal left” in the US, there are far fewer who would condemn what Pol Pot did than there should be. After all, he was pursuing his ideal.
4) Of course there are many other commonalities between leftists, but these three is what gives great momentum to the destruction and chaos leftists try to bring about. Likewise, it is why they should be seen, no matter the personalities, as perpetual enemies to all we hold dear. Something to remember when considering compromise with them.
I prefer to call them what they truly are, “traitors”.
The left even named conservatives.. "conservatives"..
Because the opposite of progressive is conservative..
And conservatives did (and still do) nothing about it..
I am not conservative I am radical.. because I want radical change..
America is and has been socialist for a long time.. I want to change that..
Most "conservatives" I know are really radicals..
It can Change IF "the conversation" is radically changed...
Changed.... to take control of the language of the conversation..
Because "Progressives" are indeed "Oppressives"..
And are "for" the dictatorship of the proletariat..

Once Marxist implement their ideology and eliminate those who opposed them, the Marxist eventually turn on each other until only a dictator remains.
EVERY Marxist movement has ended the EXACT same way-—thousands/millions killed and one strongman in charge.

This is nothing new. Early 20th century, international COMINTERN communists referred to themselves as “progressives”. And, from their perspective, it was not even deceptive.
As the “progressive” label acquired a negative connotation among the Country Class of being synonymous with “communist”, the Left began to refer to themselves as “liberal” in the 1930s. (Liberal originally meant favoring minimal government, laissez-faire economics, individual liberty, and an inalienable right to property, which is pretty much opposite of its current meaning in the American sense. European writers — e.g. Hayek — often used the older definition well into the 20th century.)
By the 1990’s the “liberal” label acquired a negative connotation of communist (actually communist-lite), as well as cavalier and clueless.
With the downfall of the USSR, communism was no longer viewed as an existential threat to the American idea. This actually reinvigorated the American Left, allowing them to be more open with its communist leanings. Since “liberal” had negative connotations among the Country Class, and since the negative connotations of “progressive” had faded, the American Left resurrected the earlier “progressive” label.
Unless you’re reading about the progressive movement of Teddy Roosevelt’s time, whenever you read the word “progressive”, it is synonymous with communist. Just because mindless, useful-idiot Leftists don’t understand that the two are synonymous when they refer to themselves as “progressives”, doesn’t mean that they don’t support communism. Because when they voted for Obama, they elected a communist.

As with everything else, Leftists twist words around to be 180 deg. out of phase with their true meaning.
Liberal is the exact opposite of what it used to mean and “Progress” now for them means going BACK to the failed ideology of Collectivism.
With collapse of Communism, the Oppressives simply bided their time until they could try to sell the same old snake-oil to a new generation.
Why don’t some of these modern day Communist-Oppressives go to places like Cuba or North Korea and actually see their ideology in action – the picture won’t be very pretty.
