She collects SSDI and she works under the table and she drives.

In many cases, that's the key to stretching those SSDI checks enough to be able to live on them.

"In many cases, that's the key to stretching those SSDI checks enough to be able to live on them. "

A relative, upper NY socialist, never paid income taxes or filed a return.

As he approached 62, he thought it would be wise to earn some legitimate SS points. He worked for a hardware company enough quarters to qualify for minimum SS at 62, then quit.

Just as he was about to turn 62 he informed the family that he was finally diagnosed with ADHD and qualified for SSI.

It is not about stretching the checks, its about scamming the system. Her husband retired from an insurance company after 30 years, and before he left, claimed disability and got it. To this day, he is skiing, working out and all the other stuff and collecting retirement and SSDI. He hasn’t gotten the personalized license plates though, yet. He works under the table at the gym.
