HOUSTON -- Homicide investigators said a welding torch is the likely weapon used in 12-year-old Jonathan Foster's death, Local 2 Investigates reported Friday.
"We're talking crematorium-type of hot," said one Houston Police Department Homicide Squad officer assigned to the investigation.
Police said they confiscated a badly burned section of carpet from the home of Mona Yvette Nelson, 44, who stands charged with capital murder.
She had a welding background and police found welding equipment in her home on Allwood Street in the Fifth Ward area of Northeast Houston. Police said a section of carpet was badly burned and the smell of a human body filled the area around that carpet.

I agree she will get the death penalty, but that extreme liberal organization “Amnesty International” will step in and prolong her life indefinitely.
A child murderer, Austin Perry, has been on Texas death row for years — he pled guilty, was convicted, sentenced to death. And now he takes up space and breathes air on Texas Death Row. No execution date has been set. All because of the interjection of this Anti-American organization.
So the U.S. doesn’t really have a dysfunctionally depraved justice system that coddles criminals and harasses victims and their families? It’s just 4Runner’s imagination, right? It becomes easier every day to spot folks on this site with tough guy taglines who think it’s soooo patriotic to defend an indefensible status quo. Next you’ll be defending Obama. In fact, I think someone just has.
Try this: You know what would happen to her in Singapore? Or China? Or Japan? Or Russia? Bottom line: for a criminal or a crazy or a terrorist, there’s no better place to ply their trade than in America, where laws can be twisted to benefit and serve the self-interest of the most heinous among us.
And another thing: Seems a lot of folks here don’t recognize a rhetorical question when they see one. My asking why I continued to want to live in America did NOT require an answer. If you thought it did, you missed the point entirely. C’mon people, wake up!
Um... he’s only been on Death Row since 2002. He’s still got two years to go until we get to the 10-years-or-less point.

Having been on a capital murder jury in Houston, I can attest that what you say is true. (defendant took a plea at the last minute)
This creature does not deserve to have her photograph in the same world with that child’s photograph, nor her name mentioned in the same breath with his name. - Lord have mercy!
The little boy that this monster murdered was our neighbor and friend. And so I have followed this case closely.
The murderer pleaded guilty, claimed he was SAVED, and he asked for execution — actually said in Court he would not file an appeal. His execution date was set. Weeks before the execution date, Amnesty International visited him and thet DID file an appeal on his behalf.
And so he sits on Death Row. No execution date set.

He killed a 8-year boy, a little boy who was a delight to his friends and the neighbors. Scum of the earth like Perry Austin should be executed immediately, as soon as a judge/jury gives the nod.
Execution dates cannot be set until the convict exhausts his appeals. Thank you, Supreme Court.
