President Obama provoked fresh outrage today after taking a 20-man motorcade to visit a childhood friend during his lavish Christmas holiday in Hawaii.
The 10-vehicle convoy drove the president and wife Michelle from his rental property in Kailua, across highways cleared of traffic and through a military community to reach Bobby Titcomb's beachfront house.
Mr Obama, who spent eight years at Punahou School in Hawaii before graduating in 1979, has splashed out $1.5m on his trip – a decision that will not endear him to the millions of Americans facing economic hardship in the New Year.
The extra cost of the excessive security levels demanded by the holidaying Mr Obama will further enrage opponents of the 49-year-old, who will return to work on January 3.
After a game of golf with his old friends in the day, the president ate at the barbecue, played volleyball and relaxed on the beach with family and friends, White House spokesman Bill Burton said.
Police had stopped cars along the route at on ramps and side streets. Onlookers were often waving or flashing the famous shaka sign.
While enjoying the barbecue the president’s men, armed to the teeth, carefully guarded the area, and waterways, against any possible attack.

In ancient Rome, an individual’s social status was marked by how many hangers-on followed them through the streets. Some of the “followers” were professionals, paid to follow. Literally. The really rich could tie up traffic for nearly an hour.
New laws had to be passed limiting these parades. It’s funny, if you stop and think about it.

I was pondering Dear Leader’s public image and the FLOTUS’ posterior came to mind. Depite the fact she sports a beam two ax handles wide, she is considered by the star struck MSM as a perfect physical specimen, not to mention the final authority on nutrition. Any fool can see in a passing view that she lacks either self control, a fundamental understanding of nutrition, or both. Notwithstanding, the media prefers to ignore the obvious, even to the point of declaring it a taboo to so much as mention it. So it is with Dear Leader himself-he refuses to disclose his academic performance, can say not a word that’s not teleprompted (even then mispronouncing words, like ‘corps’), and continuously displays political, economic, historical and geographical ignorance, while the media, no longer concedrned about looking foolish, praises him unconditionally and without qualification. The spectacle defies all reason and common sense. That is, perhaps, why it took a child to point out that the emporer truly had no clothes.

These vacation accounts all read like Obama has not thought about matters presidential since he left Washington—this trip has been all playtime.
The costs failed to mention the payoff funds to be sure his “childhood friend” remembers to relate the “CORRECT” stories of his rembmeberances.....count on it.

Remember all the grief George W Bush took for going home to Crawford, TX? And, all he did was stay home and rake his yard. No lavish vacations on our dime for the Bushes. The lamestream media even griped about their visits to Maine to stay at home with his parents.
