I agree, but that only compounds the problem - they should not be suing the city (which means the taxpayers will have to pay out any settlements). SUE THE UNION and SUE INDIVIDUALS RESPOSIBLE.
But - they won't. The unions are too protected, more so than any other criminal (and they are criminal) enterprise on the planet.
They also won't sue individuals responsible. I remember what a trial lawyer told me decades ago: "You sue those with the deep pockets.....always."
That means "the city", and that means "you and me and every other taxpayer."
If that is what happens, the city should interplead them.
The madness will not stop until those truly guilty are punished. They are the UNIONS..Not the taxpayers and NOT the city of NY. It is a perversion of justice to do otherwise and a slap in the face to all of us. And, for those who think this would just happen in NYC..Just wait..Soon it will be coming to your town.
