A lot of different foods can be prepared efficiently this way during troubled times.

Great idea! I’ve been doing that with the businesses in my local area. If their flag is in bad shape, I let them know it needs to be replaced. If it a not-for-profit entity, or otherwise obviously short of funding the flag replacement, I may buy it for them.
