PASADENA, Calif. -- Thousands of volunteers were hard at work in Pasadena and Irwindale getting the floats ready for the 122nd Rose Parade Presented by Honda, but one float in particular is much more than just a float.
"It's a dream come true for me. This is something I've wanted to do for nine years," said Jerry Thomsen, a firefighter specialist.
When America was attacked more than nine years ago, a group of Los Angeles firefighters headed to Ground Zero to help, and Thomsen was among them. Now he and his L.A. firefighting buddies are honoring their fallen comrades in a uniquely Californian way.
"I've heard 'never forget' for a long time, and I think we've forgotten about our heroes that we lost," he said.

My understanding is that it is not our forgiveness to give, only the families of the victims can forgive, and even they can only forgive the murderers of their own loved ones.

If that is true, then it is not your grudge to bear, either.

Thank you. That was well put and in line with how I want to turn my heart and mind this coming year.
It’s too much energy wasted on nothing to constantly hold hatred in my heart.

AMEN!!
This does not prevent you from defending yourself or your family or your country, just from hating the people against whom you may have to act in defense of your family or your country.

I shall try to release my disdain of moslems, in the coming year. This will not be easy for me. I know not if I can. I do agree, we must convert these people of Islam, for civilization to avoid a conflict which could destroy us all. I shall continue with prayer for our nation's victory over a people who have been led astray by an evil so powerful, he rules God's planet, at least at this present time. I realize his power is fleeting, and I pray his power will soon be at an end. I want a victory for those who lost their loved ones on that tragic day of 911. I want a victory for those who lose their loved ones as we battle in far away lands. I want a victory for each person who occupies space in America, and knows this land of America is a land of justice and love. I realize what I want is not possible though, since such is not within the plan the present ruler (the evil one) of this planet has as weapons. Thus I tear up and am torn by not only the day known as 911. I wish evil was in chains. I pray one day I will have the chance to witness evil (all evil) in chains. Till that day...I will struggle to love and pray for our enemies. Thank you for your kind words. I will try to do as Jesus asked. I fail Jesus so many times. I shall always be in this battle for good. This is my fate. I pray God will have mercy on America, even if He has no mercy for me at my judgment. I love America. I do not want America hurt again. So please, remain in prayer for me.

They even murder each other for not being the same kind of Moslem. There was a time when so-called Christians did this also. However, the rulebook for Christians, the Bible, opposes such behavior, so as Christians became more familiar with their fundamental teachings, the more kind and tolerant they become of each other as well as towards those who dont believe.
The very opposite is true for Islam. The more a Mohammedan becomes familiar with his prophet and his rabid teachings, the more violent and intolerant he becomes.
Excellent observation and very profound.
