China's new "aircraft carrier killer" ballistic missile can cover 1,243 miles, according to The Chosun Ilbo.

To show the distance it could cover, we added the approximate radius of China to the distance the missile could travel. As you can see, China now wields formidable power in the Indian Ocean and the East Pacific.

The trouble with these ‘dreams’/’theories’ is that many misunderstand both the Russian and Chinese world view points (NOT the Communist view point).

Russians think of Mother Russia and self-defense against what they perceive as threats. They claim a certain territory. These claims are dubious historically. Nonetheless.

The Chinese view themselves as superior to all others. They claim a certain territory based on historical claims. They seek to reclaim these territories.

Both are more likely to attack each other than the US. See the huge border war from the 60s and the “skirmishes” in the 70s. China is also more likely to attack India than the US - again see the border wars with the Indians.

China will (if this happens at all) take Taiwan the same way they took Hong Kong. Had they wanted to take it by force they would have done so in the 70s while Mao was still alive (he thought nothing of 300 million casualties resulting from a nuclear war: see his comments to Nixon in 1972).

China will quietly build it's strength up until it is obvious they are undisputed. They do not need a war; they only need the US to continue its current devaluation of the US Military (see their F-22 challenger, the J-20).

Be afraid only of what the crowd in DC has in mind for America.

Duduman was the real deal.

Once God apprehended him, his whole life was a miracle.

God knows the globalists and the Chinese and the Russians better than they know themselves.

lol...I was thinking that. One Trident could destroy all of the key things in China. ONE ship. Now we have to find a President with balls to use it.

Sun Tzu quotes which have relevance to everything China does:

“Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent’s fate. “

“For to win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.”

“If ignorant both of your enemy and yourself, you are certain to be in peril. “

“It is essential to seek out enemy agents who have come to conduct espionage against you and to bribe them to serve you. Give them instructions and care for them. Thus doubled agents are recruited and used. “

“It is only the enlightened ruler and the wise general who will use the highest intelligence of the army for the purposes of spying, and thereby they achieve great results.”

“Of all those in the army close to the commander none is more intimate than the secret agent; of all rewards none more liberal than those given to secret agents; of all matters none is more confidential than those relating to secret operations. “

“Supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy’s resistance without fighting. “

“The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.”

“Thus it is that in war the victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been won, whereas he who is destined to defeat first fights and afterwards looks for victory. Thus, what is of supreme importance in war is to attack the enemy’s strategy.”

“When envoys are sent with compliments in their mouths, it is a sign that the enemy wishes for a truce.”

Well chosen.

There there’s tons of Chinese pride that also relishes a fight.

Most probably prefer to do it with intellectual skill, most of the time.

The ability to nuke the moon was a capability available to us as far back as the 1950's.
I am being absolutely serious when I say that there was a scientist who was part of the project planning to do just that very pointless thing, I suppose merely to show the Russians we could it, by the name of Dr Carl Sagan, that very famous one having gained national prominence in the way he did.

They say they are deploying them and have them. We have seen a lot of chatter. But one thing we have not seen.

This DF-21D weapon has never had one single operational test down range over the ocean...not one.

it is a lot of talk...and IMHO, it is a red herring in hopes we will "think" they have it and thereby limit our operations out of fear of it. Pure Sun Tsu.

As it is, the us has developed, tested, and fielded a successful anti-ballistic missile defense on our AEGIS vessels already. So even if they do ultimately make one of these...or several...it will be charging into the teeth of our most effective defense.

And that defense is getting better. In April of this year (2011) we successfully tested an anti-missile laser weapon system. Not deplyed yet...but the new Ford Class carriers, the new Zumwalt Destroyers, and the new Burke Flight III destroyers (should we develop them) will all ultimately have these weapons on them as well.

Here's how that would work (in addition to the AEGIS BMD missiles already deployed:
