Brace yourselves for a 'mini ice age': This winter set to be coldest in 300 YEARS
Daily Mail ^ | 12/29/10 | Fiona MacRae

Posted on 12/29/2010 7:40:10 PM PST by Nachum

If you thought last week was as cold as you could bear it, brace yourself. Forecasters say the worst is yet to come, and this winter could be the harshest since the Thames froze over more than three centuries ago. Temperatures for December are the coldest on record, with the average reading close to minus 1c – almost six degrees below normal. And with forecasters warning that this winter’s ‘mini ice age’ might last until mid-March, this winter could be the worst since 1683-84 when a fair was held on the Thames.

“1683-84 when a fair was held on the Thames”

Clearly due to SUVs.

Why aren’t all of the brave warmers telling us that the current global blizzard and arctic conditions are the result of global warming?

Why wait until summer to tell us?

Does this apply everywhere? A nice cold winter would sure be welcome in Phoenix. I might even get some wear out of my winter coat.

Well, somebody forgot to tell Texas about this. We have been much warmer than normal for this time of year. Tomorrow’s high in Central Texas will be 74. It’s 62 now at 9:30 pm. Not that I’m complaining, just sayin’

The good news is that every day this cold continues puts another nail in the coffin of man made global warming. The Brits have been particularly loony with their carbon caps/cap and trade and assorted green BS along with wasting billions on Al Gore type scams that it all serves them right.

I don’t know, but it didn’t have an accelerate pedal. It had a force per unit mass pedal.

Maybe it was an apple cart.

Exactly what I was saying (see #6). We’ve had a few chilly days but for the most part I am running out of things to wear when it’s 80 in December. Somehow the summer stuff doesn’t look right in December.

It’s not happening down in central Texas. It’s gonna be near 80 here tomorrow.

We should SUE all the global warming nutbags for over-reacting, and now making things too cold

Tell them if the warming was our fault then the cooling is their fault

We’re heading for warm weather in southern Michigan. Its 29 degrees here now and we’re expecting some freezing rain tonight and temps in the 40s tomorrow.

Not complaining mind you.

“every day this cold continues puts another nail in the coffin of man made global warming”

No, unfortunately the whole scam is predicated on the idea that PEOPLE WORRY ABOUT THE WEATHER. And as long as people are worrying, the gorebots are moving forward.

The only answer is real education about why these are natural cycles, and how this is a political scam pushed by only one side of the political debate, because IT BENEFITS THEIR SIDE!

Anyone can predict these patterns reasonably accurately, based on sunspots and etc.

If I lived in Phoenix I would want a normal winter and a much colder summer.

record cold winters are not good for the economy. People end up spending their entire paycheck on propane and natural gas.

After an ass kicking blizzard, the next 10 days are going to be above freezing here in greater new york, with a couple of rain days thrown in.

I’m not complaining either.
