This can't be true - everyone tells me they only hire "A" players who are "best fit" candidates.

lol

You’d think everyone that has a job would be thankful to just have one. I know I am.

Maybe they are thankful to have a job, but would like another one? Most people that ARE employed are probably worked to death due to low staffing with stagnant wages. I doubt that type of grass is gonna be greener anywhere else they go.

Quitting a paying gig in a rotten economy. Ending up on Gov't assistance

He loves it when a plan comes together.

Supervisors probably think the same thing about their managers. Poop rolls downhill.

Some of the 84% are going to replace discontents who left other companies because they too were dissatisfied with management. They’ll be jumping from the frying pan into the fire. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

I can’t believe that many people would quit a job in this economy. Are they expecting easier work? I doubt that is going to happen. Unless the pay is way down.

If someone has a job they like, they aren’t going to be quitting it, so where are the openings for the ‘nice’ jobs going to come from?

I hope they know there’s no 3 years of unemployment if you quit. Unless that was part of the last bill.

I am surprised that only 84% of americans want a better job. who doesn’t? the desire to improve oneself is all part of being human.

"84 percent of U.S. employees plan to look for new jobs in 2011"

Those would all be private sector employees, because if you are employed by the Gubmint, you got Unions, and you have constant benefits and pay increases, and contribute ZERO to the economy or society, in general, IMHO.

Interesting comments. PLAN to look for and QUIT are two different things. Given the lack of loyalty from employers to employees, one would be stupid to not keep their eyes open for other, better opportunities. Quiting in today's job market would also be stupid.

But, but...the administration and the media reassured us that there was a Recovery Summer and told us the economy was on the rebound. /sarc

The workplace in America today, is a brutal meat grinder, where private sector employees watch as everything goes up, except their wages, as their benefits, and medical plans are slashed eliminated and or decimated.

If that isn't enough, instead of deserved raises, they are offered phony incentives and unobtainable commission goals, as their threaten daily to work harder and produce more or else....

People in today's workplace are simply screwed.
