Brandishing in a crowd of unruly strangers is irresponsible. The Marine's obligation is to his family. He should have made a hasty exit and called the cops.

Read the whole thread. That's a very stupid comment you just made.
The man with the gun was escorting the Marine's wife away from the confrontation, but some of the young thugs followed them and assaulted the wife, one punch knocked her out. At that time, judging from the narrative in the news report posted further down in thread, the man brandished his gun, and in such a case it was wholly proper to do in self-defense.

That's why I carry a cop rather than a gun. In order to conceal carry a cop I wear very loose clothing.
Wow! I managed to post a comment that is nearly as stupid as yours!

Fate put a patriot with a gun there, thank God.
When seconds count, the police are just minutes away.

Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.

I'll take your bait......
Did you read anything in the article?
It wasn't the Marine who had the firearm to begin with but nonetheless, "beat a hasty retreat" from a mob of attackers battering them? What were they supposed to do fly away through the sky?
Come on.....

Tell me you’re joking...
He DID try and make an exit. He sent his wife off to remove her from the situation. What the hell is wrong with you? Brandishing that weapon was not irresponsible, it was life saving. I’m sure you’re no lib but BOY do you sound like one in this post.
