O'Donnell is correct. Liberals give much more to charity than conservatives.

The problem is that they give other people's money.

Exactly. And you can see it even in his own example. He’s taking credit for all that money, even though it was given to the charity by other people.

That's the heart, the core of liberalism.
Liberals also create phony "charities" in order to get the public to fund their leftist, totalitarian dreams. They also infiltrate and take over legitimate charity organizations then twist the original mission of the organization to support leftist goals; not mention looting many of them in process.

The story below goes times 100 for the crowd in Washington.

One of the bits of information I picked up while lobbying on the money issue down at the old gold dome is that each year, the legislature publishes a list of all the bills they passed during the session. It used to be called the “Legislative Summary.” Probably still is.

I was absolutely FASCINATED when I opened the first one I came across. Right there on page one is the following verbiage: (I’m paraphrasing)

“No determination has been made as to the CONSTITUTIONALITY of any of the legislative acts summarized herein.”

That statement was signed by the Legislative Counsel (their lawyer).

Bottom line: If anyone thinks these guys have one eye on the state and national Constitutions as they mess with our lives, they’d better think again.

One of the NOT-SO-FUNNY experiences I had while mucking about down there was the night several of us were invited to one of the many lobbyist funded and euphemistically named “Hospitality Suites.” Legislators are invited to come by after the session ends each day to eat, drink and make merry (mostly drink).

As we walked down the hallway of the fashionable hotel where this particular suite was located, we followed two young freshmen legislators. They were just sauntering and talking and as we closed in from the rear to within earshot, one turned to the other and declared (and I swear on my sainted mother’s grave that this is true): “This is fun. It’s kinda like spending your own money — but it’s not REALLY your money.” Then they both laughed.

When we got to the suite — to which we’d been INVITED by the member who supported our particular issue, we were almost immediately — and very curtly — told to leave by another member who outranked our friend. Wouldn’t do to have ordinary CITIZENS overhearing the deals being made.

We’re clearly doomed.
