Come along on another Alaskan adventure as we profile amazingly hard workers in the timber industry. Loggers are hearty and hardy, and the ones I know are true conservationists. I cant wait for you to meet these lumberjacks!
During this Christmas season, do you ever wonder where you get many of your Christmas trees, firewood, packing boxes
shoot, just look around at everything timber touches and ask yourself who begins the production of these wood products? Youll meet them on an exciting trip to an Afognak Island logging camp where our daughter learns even more about our familys #1 lesson: tough work ethic and character will fulfill and sustain you.
Learn how the logging families live in such a remote part of Gods country and how they cherish the land that provides their livelihood. Youll see how their reforestation efforts allow the forest regrowth rate to repeat a life cycle of new forest nearly every 20 years. These loggers actually care more about the sustainability of their forests than most anyone because they love their livelihood, they know America relies on our domestic timber industry for good jobs and economic security, they are inspired in the great outdoors, and many of them want their kids to get to grow up to be loggers. Basically, the good folks youll meet want to be allowed to do what they love to do and what anyone who lives among lumber and wood products rely on them to do for us.
In addition, come see Willows eyes open to a new rugged and rustic lifestyle. Her driving skills improve (?) before she undertakes a familys rite of passage with an upcoming drivers license test. Any parent can relate.
With only a couple more episodes to share, I promise you a fun and informative episode of Sarah Palins Alaska this Sunday night at 9pm ET/8c on TLC. Follow me there!
You can watch a preview of the episode
~ Sarah Palin
Thanks very much for your wonderful comments, particularly about your daughter!
Yes, Sarah Palin knows about business and also the hard work and money that goes into running a successful business. I loved that she was asked to autograph the chain saw. The man was delighted! Like you said, tonight was another great show!
Willow is such a good sport. Track is gone, Bristol is gone (so happy she bought a nice house in Arizona with her DWTS money!) Piper is...adorable :-O
Willow is the only child left to hang with her mom constantly on her Alaska Documentary to promote her state.
Willow will be something someday, you BETCHA!
We are in one of the most dangerous times in history with no good end in sight..perhaps am just reading too many Daniel Silva books--while we rest on media casting heroes, terrorists are being schooled and trained to take down the American Infidels. Israel has lived terror ongoing, sadly it might take experiencing more terror on our lands, as our government is a "slow learner" to really understand how to fight the Muslim Jihadist terrorists who want to take down America.
Maybe Palin can be a little bit Meir, maybe Palin can be a little bit Fletcher--its an instinct to survive.
It is dangerous, that's why I always do it by myself with no one within 200 feet. I only have to worry about one person if things go to crap, me. All you need is to feel the ground shake when a "Big Boy" falls and you realize what you're dealing with.
Todd and the rest of the guys were standing too close because you never know when the tree will kick back, seen that happen a time or two. The branches, on up, hitting the ground wrong can cause a tree to spring back 5 to 10 feet from the stump, requires shutting down a while, going get a drink of water and reflecting on what the hell you are doing ;^)
Bristol got such a good deal on her 4,000 sq.ft. house. I found that info on Christmas Eve but couldn’t post from AZ Republic. Willow is a beauty and we hear that she is a serious student, so I hate to think that she will disappoint the libtards by going to a major university or maybe just a smaller college. Track served our cuntry and he is happy to eventually take-over the family fishing busiess. Libtards act as though there’s something infinitely wrong with wanting to live and work in Alaska. They’re nutz!
Piper and Willow will be anything they desire! You betcha!
And with prayer and God willing. maybe Sarah Palin will be what we want her to be come election day 2012!
Yoweee! I have actually experienced the ground shaking when a huge redwood fell after am early winter storm, so I can relate to your comment. Yep, I sure learned tonight some of the dangers of logging and I received some FR mail further expounding on the dangers. For me, tonight's show was most enlightening and interesting.
Just got finished watching the show. I LOVED IT..Ok I had NO clue there was a such thing as bear spray LOL..this was the first time I had ever heard of that..and Piper, such a cutie, next episode she will put gold that she finds on Ebay, good luck with that LOL..too bad it won’t be coming on for another two weeks but its worth the wait
Well, all right! I have now heard from my best buddy, so I can sign-out! I am so happy you LOVED this episode. I missed the replay -— thanks to him watching a netflix movie -— and I forgot to set TIVO, so I set it to record on the next showing, which is Wednesday IIRC. Piper is so funny and cute and Willow driving the stock car. Yeah, two week until the final episode, but it’s a 2 hour special. We can wait. I’ll see you tomorrow.
“I would not wish the presidency on such an out doorsy-active, close & loving family!!”
That’s what I’ve said all along. I would love for Sarah to be President, but they have such a wonderful life in Alaska. And D.C. does not deserve her. It is too corrupt a place.
Zot!
Did the new Obama word “corpsemen” make it to the Dictionary as well? Just askin...
Did you happen to catch a glimpse of Piper’s cup? She had a coffee cup that said “Piper for President” LOL!
The other two girls are more like Dad but with female attitude.
The tv gossip shows say Bristol has bought a home in Phoenix.
Which is great that be a good place for family to visit and get some warm weather.
And I bet they will be visiting allot with that adorable Grandson they love so much.
I agree.
And I feel like the Palins already live under a microscope.
Heck they had to build the fence up to keep the renter author idiot from watching them.
That is one creepy thing to move into the house next door to a family you claim not to be found of.
We just had about 20 trees removed from our property.
It was awesome to watch.
And our tree guy was named Rocky too.
Just the other day the county came out and cut the 2 remaining trees on the road that makes our view of the Bay fully panoramic now.
And the fresh salin water is wonderful for the sons health and my hot flashes. : )
If Palin is our next POTUS it would be uplifting for the fashion ping threads. : )
What did she pay for her home?
I hope she was able to pay for it up front and not have to carry a mortgage.
