The corridor from Salisbury, Md. to Philadelphia to New York City to Boston to Portland will be faced with roughly 18 hours of heavy, wind-whipped snow.

A nightmare is in store for holiday travelers. "People may have problems getting home from holiday ventures,"

Travel will become nearly impossible from Philadelphia northward as the all-out blizzard ensues late Sunday into early Monday morning. Those planning to travel on Interstate 95 during this time run the risk of becoming stranded for a time.

If you’ve been there even in a blizzard

Trust me. I have.

If I have opera tickets, I'm going even if I cannot drive. I've seen it pretty snowy in Manhattan. It doesn't stay around long though.

Very light snow here in the Caldwell area now. It's so light that I cannot actually see the snow falling, but the ground is being dusted.

Ihave one of those fake fireplaces that use the gel cans. They actually do generate quite a bit of heat. Looks like I will be curled up with a good book and hurricane lamp for light

Fairly light up here in CT, maybe 1” accumulated in the last two hours. I hope you have a good blizzard!

I’ll be all set except for heat...hope the power isn’t out for TOO long. My broccoli and cauliflower seedlings won’t mind a little chill.

They are going to announce about the Eagles game by 12:30 this afternoon.

My brother has tickets for the game.

What is there to announce? I'm sure both teams are at or can get to a city hotel. The subway goes right to the stadium. They're not really thinking of not playing, are they? I'm kinda sorry both the Jets and Giants are out of town this week. A 4PM game in the Meadowlands would have been fun.

It is not the players they are concerned about, it is the fans. The game begins at 8:30 tonight when the conditions right now are calling for winds 40 miles per hour and heavy snow.

Pumpkin Pie & Clam Chowder-—

Sounds like he is trying to wake up his taste buds, which are off kilter with the Chicken Pox.

But—I am now hungry for Clam Chowder!!!! Thanks alot!

I will have to settle for the veggie/turkey/barley soup I made with the Thanksgiving Day carcasses.

I’m a fan. It sounds like great fun. These bozos wouldn’t have played the game where Summerall kicked the 49-yard FG in the snow to beat the Browns, and I wouldn’t have my childhood memories. There was freezing rain and all the roads were covered with ice going in. I still remember watching cars slide helplessly down exit ramps.

Sounds like all kinds of fun from the viewing point of my living room.

The weather guy said he can count on his hand the number of games that have been postponed.

The teams from the midwest must be laughing but 40mph winds with heavy snow is a real bad combination along with fans who have been drinking all night.

The storms you guys are dealing with hit here in N Nevada about a week ago. The ski resorts are very happy- especially with the timing of it all. There is over 15 feet at Mammoth & I have heard 9 feet to 12 feet in the Sierra Nevada west of me. We got 5 inches last Thursday ( 9 days ago) but it melted off on Fri & Sat. Just overnight cold & lots of overcast & HEAVY overnight frost on everything until today.

Filling horse water tanks right now, before more cold comes in this week. High of 30 or 32 forecast for next Sat & Sun. We have a horse event planned on Sat —outside—UGH!!I hate trying to stick in the saddle when I have 4 layers on!! But I have ridden many miles in that condition.

Most of us in this area have large animals & we do all of our planning around keeping them fed & watered.

Precipitation has been significantly downgraded here in the Washington DC area. Now they’re predicting only 1-2 inches. Winter storm warning for eastern part of the area is gone and we are now under winter storm advisory.

I think I was at the first one. (NO and the Giants, moved out of the Superdome because of Katrina in 2005) And like the Minnesota game earlier this year, it was a postponement because of a facility failure, not the weather itself. I do not recall an NFL game being postponed due to weather. I've been watching since the early 50s.

I’m looking out the window here in NY and though it is snowing, it’s not sticking to the street and sidewalk.
