My Marine son is stationed at MCBH, Kaneohe Bay. He, like a lot of his fellow Marines, are pretty steamed at Skippy right now.

Seems that Skippy wanted the option to shoot some hoops if he felt like it, so the Secret Service has shut down access of the Marine’s gym to the Marines.

So if they want to keep up with their workout schedule for the duration, they have to drive over to the Navy gym at Pearl Harbor! It’s at least an hour’s drive round trip, IF the traffic is flowing smoothly. Which is rare on Oahu.

So much for Skippy’s “concern” for the guys who’ve just returned from Afghanistan.

Ptui.

An hour from K-Bay to NAVSTA? Each way, maybe. If you’re not fighting traffic. I was stationed at Subase (USS Buffalo) back in the 80’s and 90’s and NOBODY tried to go farther than they had to during rush hour. I remember one Friday afternoon going AGAINST traffic for the Submarine Ball it took me almost 90 minutes to get from the base to Waikiki (that’s about 10-11 miles, for those not familiar.)

Whenever Obama uses a military golf course, which seems to be his preference, it is closed to any of the military in the area, as well. I’m sorry to hear that he’s closed the gym as well. No Christmas vacation for the Marines, I guess.

Why can’t the jerk play ball with some Marines? Is he afraid of real men? My guess is there are more than a few who would like a shot at his lips!...and a tooth or two. LOL!
