Tyson in Shelbyville got busted several years ago for hiring illegal Mexicans. Heck, they were trucking the illegals back and forth, to and from Mexico.

The Somalis and other muslims they employ now are here as "refugees", so they have legal status. But the whole situation has been a mess.

I posted several threads a while back and those articles, as well as some others, can be found here if you're interested. Start at the bottom of the page and work your way up. There's been a lot written about the Shelbyville situation.

The locals - - and those of us in surrounding towns - - have not been comfortable about so many muslims being in the area; especially with the way the behave towards us. With the recent reports about terrorist threats to the U.S., this little episode isn't going to go over well at all.

I figured the Somalians were here legally. I wouldn’t be comfortable about having them around either. As for Tyson! I stopped buying their products when I found out they concentrate on hiring illegals.

According to information from the Office of Refuges Resettlement last fiscal year, 7,500 Somalis entered this country out of a total of 17,000 such refugees allotted to Africa. The aggregate total of Somali refugees as of 2005 was close to 70,000. Given figures for both 2006 and 2007, the current total may be approximately 90,000.

Having lived in Southern Africa, I can tell tell you that there are thousands of english-speaking, educated Christian Africans who would loved to get one of those visas, which have been relegated to the Somalis who HATE us.

I will NEVER FORGET the stories of the Somalis in this country who cheered at "Black Hawk Down" screenings, and on 9/11.

Who made the decision to bring these people here?!!!!!
