WASHINGTON (AFP) US President Barack Obama's administration said Thursday it will regulate greenhouse gas emissions from power plants, after legislation on climate change died in Congress.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said it would regulate fossil fuel power plants and petroleum refineries -- which together emit nearly 40 percent of US greenhouse gases -- starting in 2012.

With the great love for collective bargaining that Odumbo has, maybe it’s time for coal-fired and oil-fired power producers to go on strike. Nothing like national rolling blackouts in January to send a message. Remember, even if you have gas heat, you still need electricity to start and run the furnace.
Maybe it’s time to eliminate the EPA.
Or Photoshop.
Is it arguably self defense if it comes down to a choice of freezing to death or killing them?
I think I’m going to make it a mission to see if I can find out today...
I’ve been somewhat skeptical about calls for impeachment, as despite my extreme dislike for this man, I hadn’t seen anything that IMHO was enough to legally justify that. But THIS seems to be to be grounds for impeachment. This is clearly an unconstitutional attempt to bypass the legislature and rule by administrative fiat. That’s impeachable.
SLASH the funding for the EPA and they won’t be able to control jack****. I’m sick of Emperor Obama and his decrees.
We’ve basically hit the tipping point. The elected government has ceded its power to established agency bureaucracies.
Until Congress takes these agencies down, we will have rule by bureaucratic fiat. Elections now are just window dressing.
We also have the added dimension of total collusion with the White House.
Obama will now govern by executive order and faceless bureaucracy. Whichever is appropriate for the issue at hand.
Don't get me wrong, it's still an important exercise.
HA...I have friends and family who ARE, I am sure, FOOLED by these fools.
We need to regulate democrats.
Nope, they are doing it already, just ask Texas. This story is just a distraction from the real action.
Where the blankety blank are our representatives on DRILLING, on putting the word out that Obama has cost us $1.20 more per gallon for gas since he was anointed king...no one talks about that???
We don’t need no stinkin’ legislature, or constitution. We’ll just go ahead and do what must be done to establish and perfect our Socialist Autocracy.
I can’t wait till all the Republicans take office and stop this takeover.
Never mind.

With reports predicting brutally-cold weather to envelop much of the U.S. in the coming weeks, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations could make it harder for Americans to stay warm. According to the National Center for Public Policy, the EPAs regulatory war on greenhouse gas emissions will drastically increase costs for the majority of Americans who get their heat generated from coal.
Coal happens to be the chief emitter of carbon dioxide and other pollutants, making it the EPAs public enemy number one. And in absence of a comprehensive energy bill, the agencys strategy has instead been to regulate and cap its use, which is bad news for the countrys coldest regions. According to a press release from the National Center for Public Policy, the Congressional Research Service this year has already predicted that the average American household will spend $986 just for heat this winter. As far south as Atlanta, Georgia, hundreds have already waited in line for government assistance programs to help pay their energy bills.
With millions of Americans unemployed and struggling to keep their homes warm, the need for government assistance will only increase, said Deneen Borelli of the National Center for Public Policys Project21. Heavy demand and higher prices due to the Obama Administrations assault on the fossil fuels we rely upon are going to stretch charities to their limits and beyond, she said in a press release.
The is A Big Deal, people.
It’s time to really yell about this one. This is one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, economy-killing attempts yet, over the long haul.
