I think Duncan Hunter is a conservative; but to be a successful candidate, you do have to be able to appeal to voters, and he’s just about as dry as two week old, very burnt toast.

The man has had, what?, over 20 years to make a national name for himself. And he still doesn't have any visibility outside his district. Sure he has sponsored a lot of interesting military legislation, but I'm not sure what percentage of his activity has actually been enacted. Quite frankly he does have some baggage related to pushing procurements not wanted by the DOD that would benefit his constituents. I think it got worse when he was name chairman of the House Armed Services Committee. In the final analysis there just hasn't been anything outstanding about his political career.
