To: Stonewall Jackson

I’m glad to hear your friend didn’t have trouble there. I’ll bet he keeps on his toes looking out for such situations. Problem is, I’ll bet a lot of other people aren’t quite so attentive.

I would share his concern over the .32 ammo. I’m glad he came up with something a little more powerful. Hope he never has to use it.

I live in Central Kentucky, near Fort Knox, and the bears have been in this part of the state for over ten years now.

I spotted one crossing a road last fall. At first I thought it was a dog, but then it paused near the guardrail and I realized that it was far too tall to be a dog. When I got closer, I was able to get a good look at it, but it ducked down into the trees before I could get the camera on my cell phone into play.

I like to go hiking but Bernheim Forest, the privately owned nature preserve where I like to go, has a small population of bears and a not so small population of feral pigs, so I always take my 1911A1 with me.
