(Vanity) A Question on the Repealing of DADT

Posted on 12/22/2010 3:52:41 PM PST by FrdmLvr

I don't understand how the repealing of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" is supposed to make the military now open to gays. Wouldn't repealing it just revert the policy back to the original stance that gays aren't allowed in the military? I thought when DADT was instituted, it was still illegal for gays to be in the military, but now the military was just going to agree to not bug people about it as long as they weren't open about being gay.

It would seem to me that being a sexual pervert in the military is once again covered under the UCMJ.

IMO, the difference is that a homosexual can now proposition soldiers openly and have sex openly and not be drummed out of the service.

This is an awlful example of a small minority feeling very comfortable with the obamanation in power. The people will likely serve in office support type jobs. I cannot imagine someone who flagrantly violates ethical and human (vs animal) standards throwing him/herself on a granade for others....too messy.

I think the end game for all this is Gay Marriage in the Military.

Under DADT, it was NOT illegal for homosexuals to be in the military. Homosexuals who engaged in homosexual acts—or were deemed likely to do so—would be subject to discharge. Homosexuals who were celebate and quiet about their preference could stay in.

What will happen is some homosexual will be practicing his perversion and will be beat to death and than soldiers will be charged with hate crimes. Watch it happen.

DADT can only be implemented when the Armed Services have determined that it can be implemented without harming readiness and effectiveness and the services have a plan to do so.

This could take years, long enough to elect new leadership that is willing to repeal it.

What it will do is end the re-enlistment for them, then libs will reinstate the draft because no one is volunteering to serve. We have a local marine who will be discharged in April, he says none of his buddies will re/enlist because of DADT.

No, they will now have no more of an opportunity to importune anyone than heteros have. What they have created is another iteration of sexual harassment charging potential rivaling that which afflicts the hetero population in the military. I think this is going to be an unintended consequence the faggots did not foresee. So my recommendation to any hetero currently serving, bone up - no pun intended - on sexual harassment rules currently in effect and those about to be promulgated.

It don't matter really.

I suspect that before the end of his first term, Obama will propose anything he wants and the Republicans in Congress will roll over and belly up for him like they have the last two weeks and he'll get anything he desires. Including a 2nd term.

The Repubs in Congress have just re-energized his presidency and especially after the "Shellacking" in the Nov Elections.

Why bother to vote for Republicans, or vote period? Like it or not, we live in a one party system, Corrupt stupid Dems or Corrupt, stupid Repbs.

Obama's had an OUTSTANDING 2 weeks. He's what? 6/8 on the big bills? And All with Republican help.

Charming, just charming.

I raised this question yesterday. If it was repealed it stands to reason that the old laws would go back in effect. They are saying today(several articles on it)that there is a problem with the repeal and that queers cannot start outing themselves just yet.

Now, that is an extremely good point!

Clinton’s policy was set to allow them into the military as a sort of a stealth program.

Now it’s an open new policy, where they can be openly ostracized!

I sure hope that the troops are issued “soap on a rope” so some tailgunner or bush pilot can’t sneak up on you in the shower!

ROFLMAO!!!!

You missed your calling in life unless you're a comedian.

So just who do you think is going to be determining "harming readiness and effectiveness?" It's either going to be the Congress or POTUS and their hand-picked generals.

The RINO party didn't have the balls to stop it from happening in the first place. What in this side of the multiverse makes you think that they'll EVER have the votes or the spine to repeal the repeal?????

Now, they could just do it under the umbrella of maintaining the status quo.

In 3-5-10 years, they'll have to repeal the repeal under the umbrella of homophobia and hate crimes and every single piece of mud the libs can pick up and throw at them and the Repubs will cave, just like they always do.

Don't kid yourself, there will be no repeal of the repeal.

That's how bloggers are dealt with, it seems to work for them.
