Heterosexual politicians that voted for repeal of DADT for any reason other than to seriously weaken the military forces are sadly out of touch and seriously misguided.
Real inefficiencies will arise in a few years after open homosexuals have risen in rank/rate perhaps starting at the level of Corporal. It is then that retention of heterosexual men is certain to plummet.
In many segments of the business world open male homosexuals typically bring to a supervisor-subordinate relationship a lifetime of “social difficulties” and generally are unable to effectively manage heterosexual men. Add to this, the fact that most heterosexual males who are confident in their sexuality resent being supervised by a homosexual who is not otherwise obviously very well qualified for the undertaking.
Move from the business world to the demanding environment of the military where there can be a constant higher level of stress – and where superiors are sometimes not very well qualified or skilled in the art of leadership – and the outcome is predictable.
This can even apply to very liberal supervisors/managers ! They are all about themselves and they always talk about how society doesn’t benefit when you try to enjoy life like take vacation or enjoy the money you earn.
