Why would anyone be surprised? He has to follow the law of the land, so he’s looking to make it work, in the best way, for the Marines. Why should he be considered a sellout? What could he possibly do, short of resigning, and how could that possibly help make this situation easier for the Marines, over which he has a sworn responsibility?
