Former Sarah Palin colleague says she has multiple flaws
Daily Telegraph ^ | December 19, 2010 | Alex Spillius

Posted on 12/20/2010 6:03:00 AM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

"The more people try to take her out, she only becomes emboldened, strengthened, it makes her such a martyr," said Mrs Wallace, who has recently written a thriller called Eighteen Acres, drawn in part from her experiences on the bid for the White House of John McCain and Mrs Palin, his running mate.

"She has very obvious deficiencies that will reveal themselves as the nominating contest gets closer," she told The Daily Telegraph, adding: "Let her shoot her moose or whatever the heck she does on her [television] show, it will all work out."

...... "What's troubling is she has missed an opportunity to go beyond the platitudes and deepen her knowledge," said Mrs Wallace, who was formerly communications director in the George W Bush administration. "It's incredibly cynical to think you can win an election without having a thoughtful intellectual discussion with the country, thinking you can just scare people into voting for you."

Mrs Wallace's remarks follow similar reservations voiced by senior Republicans and figureheads of the Right including Barbara Bush, former First Lady, and Karl Rove, the leading strategist in the George W Bush administration.

She was a colleague in the same way that Aaron Burr was a colleague of Alexander Hamilton.

If only politicians handled things in the same way today. It might not improve the quality of the politicians, but it would definitely decrease their quantity. And they would be a lot less likely to insult Gov Palin considering that she is a crack shot.

Good. I’m glad we could have a candidate with flaws. I mean, the perfect candidate was elected in 2008.

Mrs. Palin would be the first one to admit her own flaws. I love that she is humble and flawed. I’m not sure that she is the right person for the Presidency, but we could do (and have already done) much, much worse.

Leaving the governors office was brilliant. The attacks on her were designed to send her to the poor house defending herself. You are saying that she should have just kept taking it?

Could you come up with a half million dollars to keep your current job? Where would you get the money if you were under attack like this?

Now, see that wasn’t slimy at all was it?

I hope there is a lot more infighting in the D party or we are royally screwed. Too many so called Republicans drinking from a poisoned well of greed. Can we really change it to a conservative party?

Total Bovine Excrement.

Palin has been having a discussion with the American people on the issues through her books and her Facebook posting.

A lot more of a discussion then Mitters has been doing (when's the last time you heard anything from the Myth) or Obama did in 2008.

Sorry, but I know all too many incompetent appointed liberals here in the DC area, and Nicole Wallace is one of them. I am sure that her family got her a nice position in the 2nd term of the Bush adminstration, but it does not make her qualified for anything.

Yep, “Republican Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin was the best candidate to vote for in 2008”, is how I get the conversation fired up with the gullible, slow minded...usually shuts them right down, but there’s plenty of evidence to show any of their favorites lack good judgement.

I have no intention of being “anti-intellectual,” and anyone who is proud of being so is part of our problem.
How dare anyone say that you have to be a dimbulb to be a “true” conservative.

Not as long as we have Obama-voting nitwits like Colon Bowel claiming to be Republicans.

Mrs. Wallace says Sarah has “multiple flaws” but fails to give even one example. She is just one more member of the Republican elite who can’t stand the thought of handing over the Party to real people.

Meow, meow, meow. I’m glad I’m not seeing her on Fox so much these days. She’s insipid at best, spitely when she can’t resist, and honestly rather BORING.

"It will all work out"

Exact same words Rick Santorum said to my good friend (a pro-life leader in S.E. PA) right after he whored himself for Arlen Specter. I think "it will all work out" is the RINO mantra.

She better not let her dad be her "second," he might drop her gun and mess up the sight.

There is also something wholesomely neanderthal in me that really cannot stomach the thought of a woman in a duel.

Hey b____! can you sweep the floors, cook dinner and run a state at the same time? not to mention hunt moose, whitewater raft, clean fish, waitress, dogsled, pan for gold, build a fence to keep libtards out, and raise a bunch of kids.

Hi “old and tired.” I’m sick and tired of the Left defining our leaders with slimy, underhanded tactics.

What we need to do is stand together behind a strong leader and not be trapped into eating our own.

I doubt that Nicolle could hit a dead moose six feet in front of her.

Any former colleague that says anything bad about Palin... is being paid by one of the evilcrat republican posers that want to run and win and further the obama agenda of one world government and citizen slaves supporting the state.

Let's not be too harsh about Nicole Wallace. She's certainly right about one thing — Sarah Palin will rise or fall on her own merits. If she is, as Wallace implies, too stupid to be an effective national leader that will be apparent on the campaign trail. So far there is no publicly available evidence that tends to support Ms. Wallace's opinion of Governor Palin and Wallace doesn't cite any. Like most Palin critics she doesn't bother making an argument — she settles for a sneer.

Palin wasn't terribly poised in the infamous Couric interview and that's the principal strike against her. But she said nothing in that interview any fair person could describe as stupid. This strongly suggests she is way smarter than most prominent politicians, including the last four GOP presidential nominees none of whom ever managed to get through five minutes of hostile questioning without saying something idiotic. Everything Palin has said and done since leaving the shadow of the McCain campaign has shown a grasp issues and politics that sets her apart from everyone else in the presidential talent pool. Obama gave 50 plus speeches about health care. Palin coined the phrase “death panels.” Game, set and match Palin.

There's every reason to think Wallace is wrong about Palin, but if she's right the ABP (anybody but Palin) caucus has nothing to worry about. As Wallace suggests, Palin will implode and the GOP will nominate someone else. If Palin succeeds it will mean that Wallace and the ABP caucus were wrong from the start, probably as a result of irrational bias against beautiful, fertile and successful Christians who choose to bear and raise a child with Down’s syndrome. Somehow I doubt we'll ever hear an apology.

You seem to be under the impression that intellectuals are smart. Basically they went to the right schools and knew the right people to get into the inside track of politics. That doesn't mean they are the most intelligent. They are under the illusion that they are the best and brightest and therefore should rule our lives.

I'll trade you a pound of intellectual for a gram of common sense. I will have gotten the better deal.
