However, lately our only grocery store has been getting theirs in frozen. FROZEN! And it tastes like it’s been frozen for quite some time. Seriously, can they be that stupid?
As a youth I worked in groceries. If we had a large quantity of bread that was about to reach its expiration date, we froze it to avoid the loss. Maybe that's what your grocer is doing.
