dormee: “They are human beings with feelings just like you and I. I am thankful for anyone who enlists to protect my freedom.”

The military prohibits all sorts of people from serving. It’s not about “feelings.” It’s about military efficiency. Should we allow the obese to join? What about people with physical disabilities? How about people with mental illnesses? What you wrote sounds all nice and fuzzy and touchy feeling. Why can’t we all just get along, eh? Well, the military is not a civilian company hawking a better mousetrap or delivering pizzas. We don’t just all go to our separate homes outside of our work hours. We live, work, sleep, shower, and use the latrine together. Get a clue!

Well said, CitizenUSA.

Don't forget that in the war zone, military members become "walking blood banks." That means you may get a direct, unscreened "vein to vein" transfusion should you become a casualty and in need of blood.

Homosexual men have a high rate of infections due to their unhealthy sexual practices. These include HIV, Hepatitis C, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia and something called "Gay Bowel Disorder."
