“Soldiers” without an apostrophe is the plural. With an apostrophe i.e. “soldier’s” it is a possessive. Your use of the apostrophe renders the sentence nonsense. Grammar matters. When one’s grammar is random one leaves his reader always having to figure out what the writer must have meant.
