Senate Passes Bill to Lift Military Gay Ban

The Senate Saturday repealed the military's ban on gays serving openly in the military, by overturning the policy known as "Don't Ask, Don't Tell."

Senators voted 63-33 to advance the bill to the floor, passing a 60-vote procedural hurdle. Final passage Saturday afternoon was 65-31.

Well, whatever those ways were, they will get you court-martialed. This is about political correctness and changing the military culture away from what it was.

What comes with this, though, is the whole panoply of PC with equalized promotions based on sexuality ratios and equalized proportions of officers and noncoms. Combat experience and military ability will take a back seat to PC requirements. The only thing that will keep the military effective beyond our borders is increasing roboticization. This new army will be more useful within the borders, though. Perhaps that is the goal.

When I was in the military (before DADT) I served with a few gays. Good guys, all of them, and good sailors. I had a gay corpsman cut a chunk of mangled arm off me and sew it up really well.

About when did you serve? In 1961 I was in Korea. One of the sergeants made a move on one of the men at some party in the evening (guess he was drunk and let his guard down). The next day he was on a plane bound for the States and a discharge.

That's how the Army handled things then. I guess if this happens in the New Army the ol' sarge and his honey will be given lodging at the nearest motel.

“Being ex military I don’t think this is the catastrophe many would believe except in a political way (it’s a loss for our side and yes the American people). Soldiers have their own way of handling these things and those of you who served well know what I mean.”

That is right, so now all the Gays will have to wear pink Uniforms.

It will be very uncomfortable for them now. Before you suspected, but now.....

Your various posts (especially #50) demonstrate that you were not in the service. Otherwise, you would understand how life is in the military as men are cheek to jowl with each other in everyday living and having queers now being able to look you over without being reprimanded is going to be one helluva morale problem.

Many days go by that I think exactly the same as you do, perhaps I’ve lived too long. Then I sit back and wonder if this isn’t punishment for the sins I’ve committed in days gone buy.

I share your sense of pessimism. I turned 63 last month. When I was 20 if someone told me how screwed the United States would be in 2010, I would have said he was crazy.
My opinion then was that the US Congress was made up of honorable members who would never vote to undermine the greatness of the country, nor to knowingly put it in harm’s way. Obama has demonstrated severe weakness in the face of our enemies thus inviting aggression. Now, he and his lefty allies have further weakened our military establishment. Just who the hell is going to defend the nation if the Norks or the Iranians actually start something big? Leftists are truly insane.

Homosexuality is a mental disorder, no matter that the American Psychiatric Association removed it from the books in 1973. The disruption to good order and discipline brought about by openly homosexual behavior in the military will not be good; and that is the agenda - to force the nation to accept madness as “normal”.

“Soldiers” without an apostrophe is the plural. With an apostrophe i.e. “soldier’s” it is a possessive. Your use of the apostrophe renders the sentence nonsense. Grammar matters. When one’s grammar is random one leaves his reader always having to figure out what the writer must have meant.

Manners matter as well. You seem to lack those. I don’t need your misguided attempts at “education”. If you have something of any sort of relevance to add..feel free. Other than that..well.. here’s a comma for ya buddy .

I don’t see a difference between living a lie and acknowledging it. If you were gay, would it affect me? Not in the slightest. And my values are not dependent on knowing whether or not someone’s sexual orientation differs from mine.

You should have stopped after the "I don’t see" and went no further.

That which premises your statements is LIES -leftist lies.

The is no "gay" and there is no "orientation". There ARE disordered heterosexual human beings -that is what we talk about here!

Kindly STOP spewing the homosexual agenda propaganda lipstick for the homosexual sex pig.

You probably know that if the country thinks it's moved beyond the sodomite agenda, it's in for a big surprise. This agenda is spawned from Hell itself, like the guy in The Terminator (at first it might even look benign, but we should know better). The heart of this perversity is a hatred for normal healthy sexual relationships between husband and wife. This agenda seeks to do everything it can to destroy normal healthy society the way cancer cells seek to destroy the healthy cells and eventually the entire body.

You mention the people who want to pretend it doesn’t exist. They are like those who are threatened with cancer and want to pretend it's not there instead of taking positive action against it. Many will deny what some of us say about these goals but historical and current fact bear out the truth. Again they’re like cancer patients who deny the virulent and totally destructive nature of the disease.

I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir here when I say sodomy is virulent, totally destructive, and will, if allowed to continue undeterred, destroy a society, as it has in times past. “What’s wrong,” some say, “with gay marriage?” It doesn’t hurt anybody. Really? In Massachusetts where gay marriage is legal, Catholic adoption agencies have been ordered against their will to adopt out to gay couples. Second graders in elementary school are being taught about gay relationships as an alternative to marriage between a man and a wife.

The heinous concept of so-called "hate crimes" is more evidence of the spirit of anti-Christ that behind all of this. They ultimately want the Bible banned and Christians who preach it arrested as a hate crime for calling homosexuality a sin. They don’t care about Constitutional guarantees of freedom of religion and speech or anything else that stands in their way. H.R. 1592: Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007 is only the first shot over the bow. The battle is here. We either win or they win. There’s no “truce.” If we don’t win, they will.
