You are correct there are not that many gays in the military, but the problem is that this is not about being openly gay. This was a route used to get into all other sorts of social acceptance and special treatment based on a sexual act.

60%+ of the country may know a gay person or have a gay family member. They see only the “PC” version of the gay lifestyle. When you look behind the curtain you will see a lifestyle that is revolting and anti-social, and that is not even the sex part. They are not right mentally!

Will it effect unit cohesion, hell yeah! Gays will naturally gravitate to eachother, which will cause problems because no matter what anyone says will cause sexual tensions. Does anyone think intimate relationships within a platoon or company will not have an effect?

I was just talking with my son about this, his response was, there ain’t no way an openly gay guy would be able to be part of our company. We would ALL be chaptered out!

This will not be the end of it. They gay lobby will push for hate speak, discrimination, bullying, special board for complaints, special “re-education”, quotas for promotion, housing, benefits, etc. From there it will go full bore for gay marriage. How can we be equal and have gay men and women DIE for our country yet not allow them to marry??????

This BS was just their foot in the door to a nightmare!!!

If anybody needs a clue as to the unexpected consquences and the position the Pentagon folks will take they need only look at the case histroy fo that murdering traitor bastard Major Hasan. Because he was a Muslim his penchant for jihad was overlooked resulting in the Fort Hood massacre where I once served.

Americas fighters are tired, they've been fighting for a decade and now they have a Chairman of the Joint Chiefs who tells them to shut up and get out if they don't like his pc bs. Oyvey.

I have many gay friends (although, personally, I believe their “lifestyle choice” is the result of many bizarre understandings of marriage and heterosexuality in our culture) and I honestly don’t care what they do. And I would suspect most Americans don’t care about what their neighbors are up to at night - and in fact, most never have cared. We have other things to do.

But the problem is that once this becomes something engraved in federal law, that means special accomodations have to be provided for gays, they have to be specially protected (and promoted) as “minorities,” and they will form a pressure group within the military.

Also, in practice, it means that when a gay commanding officer harrasses a subordinate, this will be overlooked. A male commanding officer harrassing a female enlisted person would be penalized; but a male commanding officer harrassing a male enlisted person will be part of a protected caste.

Gays form their own clique anywhere they go, and the same will be true in the military.
