Senate Republicans blocked a measure Saturday that would have offered provisional legal status to some adults who came to America illegally as children.
Democratic backers of the legislation fell short of the 60 votes to move the DREAM Act legislation forward. Democratic Sens. Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Jon Tester of Montana, Max Baucus of Montana, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, and Ben Nelson of Nebraska voted against bringing the bill to the floor; Republican Sens. Richard Lugar, Lisa Murkowski, and Robert Bennett voted for it. The vote was 55-41.

Lugar should be a top target to remove in 2012. The Tea Party needs to make sure he gets voted out. Smirking RINO POS.
ALL of TV is bad. Price Al Waleed’s FOX is only marginally better. I went GALT on ALL media a year ago. They will not get a nickel from me.
I hate that Lugar but the democrat party is the main threat.
I bet you all wanted Republican Scott Brown gone and now we know is he against Amnesty. Brown is correct on this issue while the major ones supported here are not as clearly against except Tancredo.
The Mexican citizens that are Marines would be fluent in English and likely easily qualify on education. The delay is that they can't start much of the citizenship process until they are honorably discharged.
If they have met all the education requirements they ought to be sworn in as citizens the day they finish their Marine contract.
Murkowski cheated her way back in, but it will be the last time. Lisa needs the kind of publicity bashing Sarah has endured, and the Tea Party needs to start early. Don’t give her a break.
I agree with that. Praise the Lord for this one though.
Is there any potential opponent for Lugar yet?
Me too :):)
“So, what does a queer illegal who wants to enlist do now?”
He can always pick...Fruit.
DREAM, however, is an open door that cannot be closed once its open. It can only be opened wider.

http://www.armybase.us/2010/01/foreigners-in-u-s-military-get-fast-track-to-citizenship/ claims some sort of fast track is already in place.
Would they not need a ‘green’ card to enlist in the first place? This would apply to every foreign national, not just those from Mexico. DREAM didn’t address this issue anyway AFAIK - it was strictly about those here illegally from any country.
The Dream Act dying like this is the best thing that could have happened to the Democrats. Since it failed, they will not be saddled with being “pro-illegal alien”, while at the same time they can tell the ever increasing Latino Voting Block that they tried to support them but were stopped by the nasty, racist GOP.
This loss is good for the country but bad for the GOP.
I hope they get their ducks in a row from the jump in 2011.
It is not enough to delay the encroaching statism. The state has to be disassembled. We need government shrunk.
We need to start an indefinite moratorium on immigration, in general.
To show I’m willing to ocmpromise, we can start with just an indefinite moratorium on immigration of muslims and leftists.
Obama, Reid and Pelosi would LOVE to have the entire opposition think exactly like EGPWS.
They would love to see as many "conservapurists" like George Allen, Santorum, ODonnell, Miller, etc sitting on the sidelines with their principles (and wothout a vote) as possible.

DADT is nothing compared to this DREAM Act. Sure I don’t care for it but DADT wouldn’t destroy the United States in two years like the DREAM Act would.
What should the GOP promise the latino cartel to get their vote?
Problem is that Obama is planning to run the DREAM act administratively.
