Reports say he fired from approximately 10 feet.

If the cop had cause for concern, he should have never approached that close to start with.
The way it looks anyway, the victim wasn't charging him, if he were, he would have gotten some shots in the chest.
Angry and stupid cop.
Like I said, if a guy has a knife and is threatening you and you have a gun, don't close the distance.....Common sense, situational awareness.

I hope we get the run down on this - you can hear the bast*rd saying to the other officers "Yeah, He was carving on this wood - had the knife open." -

COPSCUM! There are numerous reports, including crime scene photos, which say the knife was closed when found at the scene (And it requires a postive action by the person holding it to close it)

>>As a person who has had a knife pulled on him at arms length....<<

According to the report, he was approximately 9 feet from the officer when he was shot, and he was shot in the side. And six seconds after the cop STARTED yelling at him. The timing is one of the biggest pieces of damning evidence.

The other one is the cop accosting him in the first place. Actually, that was the main one. If the Brownshirt had left the citizen alone, everyone would have ended the day alive.

OK, I read #133 and #136. So what? What the heck does that have to do with saying that I saw no justification for the shooting in the article you said would show it?

Did that cop even identify himself as the police?

Goooood point! Obviously the drunk cop assumed the half deaf wood carver had eyes in the back of his head, readily able to recognize he was a cop.

I would hope cops are still required to yell police, stop! But who knows, this stuff changes daily, as the circumstances justify.

At least, in this instance though, this cop is not being protected, as we would normally expect.

I’m glad no cops ever jumped me when I whipped out my knife to slice up a 4pack of cokes at the grocery to grab one. But then again, I’d probably be heavier armed than our cops sometimes...

The deeper issue is what happens when your hired protector becomes your executioner what do you do?
Government lawlessness is the precursor of civil chaos. IMHO
Is this a planned Soros outcome. just asking

The guy defiantly liked the sauce, He ****ed a guy up once in his 50 years throwing him through a glass window. He has a long record of exposing himself in public, but for all I know that just means he was taking a pee.

Where are you getting this stuff? Do you have access to court records? Or is this contrived info from some public info officer?

I doubt very much he was a stranger to the cop. Nevertheless, cops wield a lot of authority, and to quote spiderman’s uncle, “with authority comes responsibility”. ;)

I actually covered this in a previous post. Unless the cop was new, he probably knew quite a bit about this guy. It does not give him the right to harass him. Unless he was breaking the law, the cop should have respected his privacy and left him alone.

When you ask a cop: "pardon me?" Officer Hissy Bald Head will shove you so far deep in stir that oxygen will have to be pumped in but when a cop kills an innocent citizen it's all red tape mode.

It's 'mistakes were made'...

Read in the news up here months ago that the well known neighborhood wood-carver guy was deaf in one ear.

It is from one of the linked newspaper reports.

News reports would come from info garnered from the PD, or from court records. Did the news reports give credit to the source of it's reports?

Don’t forget that it has been reported that the murder victim here probably had bad hearing in one ear. There’s a good chance he had no idea what was happening.

Good link. Thanks for your efforts. I now have a much better understanding of the case.

Williams was murdered, in broad daylight, by a cop.

That won’t stop the Thin Blue NutSac Line from coming up with some weak-ass justifications for why he needed killin.
