A dash cam video from the officer who shot and killed Native American woodcarver John T. Williams was released Friday, showing Williams ambling slowly across the street in a crosswalk before the officer opens fire.

Yeah officer Birk, that is all that's needed to justify killing the guy only 6 seconds after you first called to him. Did you shoot him in the back too?

John T. Williams, 50, was shot about 4:15 p.m. at Howell Street and Boren Avenue after police say Officer Ian D. Birk yelled three times for him to drop a knife and Williams did not.
Birk, 27, stopped his patrol car and activated his emergency lights after investigators said he saw Williams working with the knife on a board. Police say Williams, standing about nine feet away, refused the officer's orders in the confrontation that lasted about a minute.
He was not shot in the back. Reports were that some of the rounds that hit him were in his side.

Lets also say that the street corner right across from the famous fish market at Pike Place was at the time the most dangerous street corner in ALL of Seattle.

Birk had no reason to stop the man PERIOD
Did that cop even identify himself as the police? As best as I could tell he just started yelling “Put the knife down.” The guy was probably just turning around to see who was shouting at him. Then he got shot several times. Appalling.
Please go back to the #22 where the guy posted that he was shot in the back. He linked the report. If you click on his link and listen to the report, it says he was shot four times in the side. Which should you believe? The guy's post or the link he provides as his source?

Where? I have not seen anyone defend the cop. The cop WILL lose his job. Most likely he will be brought up on charges. This was ruled as an "unjustified shooting". The cop is in deep trouble.

He was NOT facing the cop when he got shot 4 times.

That may or may not be true..but we haven’t heard from the Officer as to what his reason for the stop was.
We have only heard what the local media is SAYING the reason was....and we all know how accurate the media are.
I’m witholding judgement til I have all the facts.
As a person who has had a knife pulled on him at arms length....I can tell you, it takes so little time you will have your handgun drawn and the incident over before your body can even react and your heart to start pumping faster.
Uh...I believe what the actual facts are..that some of the rounds, maybe all of them, struck John Trouble Williams in his side.
