I was out shopping in it today and it was a soaking rain!
We leave Sunday AM to go up the coast by train. Hoping that there won’t be problems with mudslides.

Heavier rain is after Sunday it says.

Rain? Rain my ass!
I remember getting 7.5 inches in one hour in Vicksburg. California has no freaking clue about weather....like so many other things in this ....."state".....or is it just a plastic, inflatable wiener-world?

Foxnews say the bay area and south was going to be wet and the Sierras would get 10 to 15 feet of snow.....
UNreal!

That is a good downpour...I remember one night in Kansas City when it dumped 11 inchs overnight on us.
The snow in the Sierra mountains is the REAL DEAL!
To: Ernest_at_the_Beach
Traffic is more snarled than usual in San Diego. Looking
forward to returning home to Idaho on Thursday...if
only for a week with my family.

My son is headed out tomorrow on storm work somewhere in the Sierras. I suppose they won’t know for sure where until they leave. That’s how it usually works.
Can’t imagine what it will be like working in snow levels like that.

We are getting a ton of rain up North also. Snow level is below the 8000 ft. mark here.

I think CA is in for one of the worst rain/snow storms it has seen in a long time. Flooding, road washouts, stranded motorists and multiple wrecks on highways are highly probable.
Just looking at what is coming at us at THIS LINK (click on 'Loop 12) makes prior storms pale in comparison. There is one bright side to it - for the time being it looks like this will sail through rather rapidly, rather than sitting on top of us for days or hours within days.

Forgot to say - look at the monster-amount of rain just west of Hawaii - all of it (or most of it) appears headed California way pretty fast...
