He will be just fine, don’t forget, he has the ‘Special Congressional” health insurance.

Representatives and Senators purchase private health insurance through Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, the same program available to other government workers.

The plans include fee-for-service plans, HMOs and PPOs, and high-deductible, tax-advantaged plans - just about every type of private plan offered.

Subscriber costs are about the same as the insurance we have through my wife's major corporate employer, around $350 per/mo BC/BS fee-for-service family pan.

These are nice plans and as a self-employed person if I could not get on my wife's plan I would be delighted to be eligible for such a program, but there is nothing "special" about it compared to what's available in in the private sector compared to any other organization big enough to have substantial bargaining power.

When I heard it on the news I blurted out “I hope he gets well” and my son laughed, I said “I was being sincere” and he laughed again.

I pray for his full and complete recovery.

My Dad got that cancer, it was stage 3. 5 years later it would come back in his lungs liver and brain. It killed him. I don’t want to see anyone go through that.

Give the King a hug for me. ;o)

I agree with your first reaction. I hope he gets well, too. However, I can’t say that I’m sorry for the timing. ;o)

To be honest with you, I think he knew what was coming down the pike, legislatively speaking, and he did was was best for him...health-wise, and politically.

I don’t blame him for either reason.

Will do, and back atcha.

Wyden as I understand it did fight to kill the bill regulating internet going ons.

He was on the news tonight to state that he will be leaving tommarrow or close to it and going to John Hopkins for treatment.

The news anchor then went on to report stat on men and that particular type of cancer.

Even death rate and that made me wonder how many men routinely do the exam for prevention or early detection.

If all men all did do the test would that death number go down.

I have a friend leaving to go be with her father who is going to have cancer cut from his bowels and I asked her if he routinely had his colonoscopy done. Nope. Refused to.

Such a shame.

I just had some lab work done for a lifelong health disorder I have and my friend who works at the company that runs the blood work asked me if I made my doctors appt yet.

I told her no and she said Call Your Doctor right away they should have called you, you are very ill.

The office manager of my Doc who I am in a very good relationship with his nurse of many years tried to get in my face and get it out of me who told me I was ill.

I told her off, they should be Thanking my source for catching a red flag that they didn’t catch.

I could easily have slipped into a coma had no one flagged this.

And ticks me off that this office manager had the nerve to tell me I had no right to my medical records.

I of course spoke with the Nurse of the Docs today and let her know of this squirmish I had.

I will not allow anyone to defend their screw up by bullying me about my legal rights to my own health status.

My Doc and Nurse are near retirement and I am not looking forward to the clowns these medical institutes hire now a days.

I think it is only by the miracle and grace of God that I was alerted by someone who cares about us.

So kinda bummed about that, but praising God for keeping me breathing while I slept all these months.

If National Healthcare ever takes hold the death rate in this country is going to skyrocket.

We are very grateful for our private healthcare and when we were young had to use State funded healthcare and that was a nightmare.

Yep he leaves for John Hopkins tommarrow so he will miss out on voting.

Is there not a rule that he can call in his vote since he is going to be in the hospital?
It is not like Obama who conveinantly had to go potty every time he had to vote when a Senator.

The man has a valid reason for not being on the floor.

“....with a radioactive “seed” implanted in the prostrate would save surgery.”

That procedure, or a similar one (radioactive implant) did not save my uncle’s life.

But overall, the treatment success rate for prostrate cancer is good.

OMIGOSH! I am so sorry to hear this news. Bless your heart. I hope you know that I will be praying for you, and for a very good outcome of your treatment.

I totally agree...if the government steps in and takes over, us older folks are on our own, whether we like it and can afford it, or not....despite all of the money we’ve paid into “the system” all of our lives.

You take GOOD care of you!
