I did Donner Summit yesterday am (on my Road King) after
waiting for two days in Colfax.

Pavement was wet but free of snow. Problem is all the
traffic, clutch hand is sore. Bike is filthy. Never so
glad to get to Boomtown!

I hear ya. I’ve been in bumper to bumper traffic over the pass on sunny days/dry pavement. Never figured out why. Traffic would all of a sudden open up.

Last year, I crossed the pass during snow (maybe 4 inches and still falling). No problem. At least that was what I said to my wife. As soon as I finished the sentence, I ran over a bungee cord and the hook punctured my right front tire...about 1 mile short of the summit. That was fun. This time, I’ll keep my mouth shut until I am through...
