I can’t get too angry at Toomey or Scott Brown. Rick Santorum was clobbered when he lost his election. Rick was a purist and look what happened. Massachusetts is hopelessly liberal and PA is a purple state at best. Toomey does not want the gay lobby going after him. He barely won his election.
Rick was ignored by many conservatives b/c he endorsed Specter over Toomey on radio, TV and campaign appearances.Plus, Bush’s unwillingness to defend his own admnistration lead folks to believe that all GOPers were poison. I blame Bush, plus the Casy name for the drubbing. AND, the foolhardy belief that Casey himself is a moderate. Bob
