Senator-Elect Pat Toomey has just issued a statement supporting repeal of Dont Ask/Dont Tell.
As Ive said previously, my highest priority is to have the policy that best enables our armed services to do their job, Senator-Elect Toomey said. Our civilian and professional military leadership have now spoken and said we should repeal Dont Ask Dont Tell. I would support a free-standing measure to do so.
If Majority Leader Reid keeps his word, the freestanding repeal measure passed by the House yesterday will be voted on in the Senate in the lame duck, before Sen.-Elect Toomey is seated. Still, the support of a credible conservative like Toomey is a sure sign that repeal is likely to pass.

I think it is time for an investigation as to what goes on during “orientation” for new Congresspeople.
I’m suspecting lobotomies, injections of mind-warping substances or the presentation of blackmail photographs.
And what better day to start than today...the anniversary of the ORIGINAL Tea Party!
Call his office or write him.
Good grief. I’m really to the point of having all operations in Afghanistan and everywhere else just shut down and end, just to keep safe the decent folks in uniform so they can survive and safely rotate OUT of the new Brokeback Armed Services. God knows no truly decent American will enlist after all this.
>Put all the queers in the same unit, send them to the fiercest fighting, repeat as necessary.
Whose to say the opposite won’t be done, perhaps for “Affirmative action”.
I would love to see the military go on strike.
Will this get their attention in the District of Criminals?
THE POINT AND GOAL of the policy, in a nutshell.
No "decent Americans" in the military.
Obey, obey, obey, obey....Baaah, baaah.
Ugh!
It's time to replace BOTH parties. Neither one can be trusted. The new party should have tough standards by which anyone running under its banner should have to sign a pledge to uphold its standards or face public flogging/humiliation and eviction from the party.
Wow. Like I always say, everyone you love will disappoint you and let you down at some point.
I am starting to give up the Republicans, too. They just continue to disappoint me. It seems that they have been partially infiltrated by the "progressives" and if so, that means this country will soon go down the tubes.
Oh well, if we can't celebrate November 2, we can always celebrate Christmas. Not much else to celebrate.
If you worked in Congress, you’d probably get chairmanships and asked out on dates a lot.
I agree. It's so out of control. We are not being represented by those we send to Congress. What good is voting?
Meanwhile the Dems move merrily along with the pro-Obama pro-homosexual agenda while most of the populace twiddles their thumbs. And here on FR, some of the notorious pro-agenda posters smirk at the "victories"...
I bet he backtracks within 24 hours.
Why did Toomey have to say anything? Are all the other newly elected senators issuing press releases to indicate where they stand on DA/DT. This sounds like a guy eager to make his position known for some reason, a position at odds with most in his party.

Routed to voice-mail and was easy to do.
Get ready for the new military.
