Proving once again that Hollywood always gravitates to the wrong causes, Tim Cavanaugh of Reason.com reported on Dec. 14 that the California town made famous by Erin Brockovich — an activism that Hollywood embraced with a major motion picture starring Julia Roberts — has proven not to have lived up to all the anti-corporate fearmongering that brought the town to the country’s attention. For those of you that are hazy on the story, local activist Erin Brockovich successfully took Pacific Gas and Electric to court forcing it to pay a record $33 million class-action settlement

To the posts that attack corporations and free markets and liberty, shame on you for falling to the propaganda. The whole environmental movement is based on a lie. It started with Rachel Carson’s – A silent spring, in which she lied and made up facts to attack DDT. The result is that it was taken off the market and as a result over 3 million woman and children die each year of malaria.
These lies are the weapons of socialist and Statists working for more power, create a problem and ask the government to fix it. About 100% of the time, the problem was caused by the government and its solution makes things worse. Yet Socialist keep falling for the lies, and government gets bigger. At some point we need to demand proven, verifiable evidence before we get the government involved, other wise we end up with an unelected bureaucrat controlling our lives. Remember no corporation can destroy your life, but just about any government agency can. Like Regan said the scariest words in the English language is :Hi I ‘m form the government, and I am here to help.
So why doesn’t Pacific now, with the facts, counter sue and take them all to court to get the money back, (or put them all in jail if they’ve already spent it on electric cars)? I’d also go after the “doctor/experts” that obviously lied under oath. What’s the downside for libs? (a sigh and an “oh darn”). These people are CONSISTENTLY wrong, Gore on warming, Obama on Stimulus etc ... yet they never have to “pay” for the mistakes.
The charges, the lawsuit, the movie and even the implants were fake.
