Former Arkansas Governor turned Fox News host (and now Florida resident) Mike Huckabee says he won't run for President in 2012. Well, he won't if former Florida Governor Jeb Bush decides to run. Huckebee came out of national obscurity to place second in the 2008 Republican Primary, and is widely expected to make a bid again in 2012. Which he probably will considering Jeb Bush has denied time and time again that he'll ever run for President.
"Having gone through the process before and knowing just what it entails, it's not a decision I'll make lightly," Huckabee tells The National Journal. "If I did run, I do think I would have very significant strength going into it. The real question for me is, do I get through the nomination process?"
Other familiar names are also expected to mount a bid in 2012 as well, including Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. Though, only one person would keep Huckabee out of the race altogether, and that's Jeb.
"I love Jeb, I think he's brilliant," Huckabee says. "He could certainly raise the money, and I think he'd clear the deck."

I said on another thread last night that the usual suspects are all waiting to see what Sarah's going to do. If she declares, most of them are going to hang it up right there.

Fixed it for you. Palin is only guilty of reiterating McCain's position on illegal immigration during the 2008 primary. It was not her position, but she had to support it as his VP running mate.
She's since stated her own positions on illegal immigration, which mirror those of the American public.
They both SUCK! Over my dead body would I ever support either one.
I think most of the American people are with you on that.
And, may I add - no more Clintons, either.

She's since stated her own positions on illegal immigration, which mirror those of the American public.
Forgetting the fact that she didn't just reiterate his position in 2008 she supported it, and has not contradicted that stance to date, or that you implied that she has no principles of her own except political ambition, she made this comment on March 27, 2010:
"VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?
PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered."
You know, at this rate, I'm wondering if no one but Sarah will even show up to run.
An article that was posted here last night stated that something strange is happening, in that no announcements have been made by any Republican hopefuls yet. The author pointed out that normally, there are a slew of announcements by potential candidates right after a midterm election. It's been six weeks, and no one's breathed a word.
I think that's an interesting observation, if true. It would seem to indicate that all the players are holding back for some reason (like we even have to guess what that is).
I know one thing... On the day that Palin announces her run for the nomination, all hell's gonna break loose. It'll be the only topic of conversation for the following week, and will push nearly everything else off the front page.
I also know that her supporters are gonna rock the house from coast to coast on that day, and the noise they bring is only going to get louder by the week, until she wins the general election.
It's going to be one for the ages.
Nether was ever "nominated" for president and many, including Reagan, ran more than once. And no, I am NOT a Huck or Bush supporter.

Imagine thought the shock and angst should Palin decide NOT to run? It is possible.

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin said Sunday that Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) has “the cojones” that President Obama “does not have” to take on illegal immigration.
Appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” Palin (R) blasted Obama over the Justice Department’s lawsuit to block Arizona’s controversial new law and attacked him in particular for not addressing “sanctuary cities” — where local law enforcement is prohibited from asking people about their immigration status. Arizona’s law bans sanctuary cities.
