As some one who has been spit upon while in uniform, I must say that the members of the military that support what this country is doing to this Brave Officer in his quest to determine if Obama is actually eligible to give orders to our military are in fact pissing on the very Constitution they have swore upon their honor to protect.

And for hate’s sake I would spit my last breath at them...

This officer has put everything on the line. The only argument seems to be disobeying a superior, but where does that stop.

If I were still active, does the order stop with my supervisor, or his, or his, or his, and does it not eventually end up to the CIC. I understand the Colonel’s point. Obama is a usurper and thus unqualified to direct anything.

Got news for you. Military officers do not have quite the luxury of picking and choosing which orders to follow. If they fail to obey on grounds that an order is unlawful, then they’d best be lawyered up and if found in the wrong, they’ll have plenty of time to think about it.

Lakin was making a political protest based on conspiracy theory. Not a wise move.

We may not like it, bur Obama IS the President of the United States and the Commander-in-chief. And the war is authorized by the United States Congress. Do not ask our military officers to get caught up in political conspiracy theory.

Usmcobra, you are the kind of man I can honor with every ounce of my soul. I know there are others like you - like Lt Col Lakin - and I would lay down anything I have and my life itself to defend you or those like you, who are kindred spirits in defense of the Constitution.

I know it will be ridiculed, but I am weeping just because I am so thankful that you exist. I was beginning to think the country had lost all our true warriors for the Constitution.

I would never -ever - spit on someone who had served this nation honorably. And I would never - ever - WANT to do anything but befriend, support, and praise those who take their oaths seriously.

I should not have said I felt like spitting on the US military. Those words bring back too many raw memories and emotions for too many people. I am disgusted by those who spit on our soldiers, and I have commented here many times to that effect. I was looking for a way to say how deeply this bothers me. I chose my words poorly.

I don’t care what most people think about me, but it means the world to me right now to know that my heroes in the military understand what I mean and care at least as deeply as I do. God bless you a million times over.
