Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele stunned friends and foes Monday by launching a fight to keep his job.
Steele discussed his decision during a conference call Monday night with members of the Republican National Committee.

only Sarah Palin can save the RNC
If Steele is running again, he must have gotten support from an important potential candidate and the one who could be called most influential in the party.
“the worthless RNC is in deep debt”. I have a friend who works at the RNC and she is in deep denial, telling me that they raised as much money as ever last year!
Biggest problem with Steele is his inability to fundraise.
He needs to go and is a liability.
Why didn’t he just resign and go out with some dignity?
Now he is going get his arse kicked...
I’m for Ken Blackwell!!..shouldn’t been the choice to begin with...or Reince Preibus from my home state.
My problem is the RNC’s support for RINOs over conservatives in the primaries. My problem is the RNC’s lack of support for conservatives once a conservative beats a RINO in the primary.
Seems he’s too busy raising his own funds.
He thinks of himself as the cat’s meow. Beat it Mike, you’ve become a liability and a laughingstock.
Partying on the party’s dime.
He was just on FNC. He’s, as the saying goes “in it to win it”.
That sumbitch cost me money, too, over at Intrade. dayam
And getting paid for speeches.
LOLOLOLOLOLOL
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
You simply must be joking. The day I saw Steele sitting next to the chairman of the DNC who said, "Barack Obama has created more jobs in two years than Bush did in eight" and never bothered to respond was when I decided Steele was bought and paid for by the elites of the GOP. He's a loser.
He should have said:
“Bush created more jobs with both hands than Obama did with his pinky.”
Or something like that. It’s all a joke.
It’s about money and power at the party level. That’s bipartisan.
FReepers and left wing Marxists have that in common. Donate to individual candidates.
We need someone who can raise adequate funds to get an effective ground game in place to turnout voters. That is the basic function of the RNC and Steele did not deliver. But for the fact that so many more of our voters were already self motivated that last election would have been a disaster rather than the big victory...a good ground game would have netted us several more of those seats we lost by very small margins.
Uh, why pass over a million other people and take the first “affirmative action” guy standing on the corner just to prove that were not racists.
Herman Cain.
Ungggh!
