In a crowded gym during practice in front of parents and coaches, the Buchanan High School wrestler tackled a teammate and executed a move his coaches taught him.
He inserted his fingers between the boy's buttocks.
It's called the "butt drag," in which a wrestler grabs a rival's butt cheek and puts fingers in the anus to get leverage. The move is widely used at matches around the country and has been around for decades.

I found a pretty good clip on the move on Youtube. The poster was trying to be funny with the soundtrack, but it does show the “Butt drag” being used in a number of high school wrestling matches.

BTW, my older brother was a top notch wrestler, and I don’t remember him ever using anything like that!

Apparently, you can’t in wrestling, either.
My step son Westeled and so did my nephews, none of them ever used this move and I am sure they would have balked at using it. The crap about it being widely used is so much BS.

The only move that would even be in the same area is pulling the opponents arm between their legs from behind and driving that up the backside. Still a far cry from fingers in the @ss. Nope! Someone pulling that on me would have changed it from a wrestling match to a fight.

I don’t think the match would have ended until I’d finished with the baseball bat if some kid had done that to me.

Please tell me what leverage one individual can gain over another by sticking a finger or two in ANY hole. The finger person is exposing themselves to resistance.
Real Reason: Nerve endings abound in the anus; and the body will react extremely when they are activated. IN ANY situation, this can be exploited.
This is bush league and illegal. This kid and the coaches should be tagged and bagged.

As I noted the first time this was posted, the butt drag is a common and legal move, has been forever. It doesn’t, however, involve putting your fingers in anyone’s anus, contrary to what the reporter wrote.
I’m not sure from reading this article if the boy admits to putting his fingers in the other wrestler’s anus and claims it was part of a butt drag or if he denies the fingering at all and claims he was only doing a butt drag.
This “move” is commonly called the oil check or chocolate finger in wrestling circles, as far as I know it is illegal and I have never done this move nor have I have I ever done it on me during my years of wrestling.

I knew of this from martial arts, but never heard of such a thing in the years I wrestled in HS and college.
