If it was "morning in America" for President Ronald Reagan, a new commemorative postage stamp due in February to mark "the Gipper's" birth centennial will forever view the sunrise.
The new commemorative stamp, whose design was unveiled Monday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Calif., always will be valid for a 1-ounce first-class letter, the U.S. Postal Service confirmed. It officially will be released at the library on Feb. 10, 2011, four days after the 100th anniversary of Reagan's birth.
Texas artist Bart Forbes did the portrait, based on a 1985 photograph of Reagan taken at Rancho del Cielo, near Santa Barbara, Calif.
The design was published first in Linn's Stamp News, a hobbyist publication. Earlier this year, Linn's broke the news that a Reagan Centennial postage stamp would be released.
Although the preliminary design shows a 44-cent value, the postal agency recently announced that all commemorative, or special, issues will be inscribed with "Forever," instead of a face value, meaning they would sell for the then-current first-class rate but would remain valid for first-class mail even when rates increase.
A USPS spokesman who asked not to be identified by name said a revised version showing the "Forever" inscription will be released Dec. 28.

I had to keep that. It’s just so ME these days! LOL!
Checked out Marie Callender’s: less than 5 miles from here and breakfast is served from 0700 to 1100. Closer than Mimi’s or Olive Garden.
No leaves on the trees, here...winter is in full swing, and it will be chilly when you get here. In the 40’s and dry.
A blast from the past:

It was fun, but, “Ohyoukid!”
Off to bed, I am!
OOOOOOOOOO!! All those babeh kittehs!!! Too cute!
Whew, I can’t imagine having that many kittens running around at once. Our 45 adult cats are plenty enough to handle. LOL!
Hmmmmmm, I’ll hang on to the link and show it to Hubby. We do use both wells but this may be something to consider. That would free up a generator if the power was out for a lengthy time.
Thanks!
My kittehs are “fixed”!
That is so cute!
Nobody can look self-satisfied quite like a kitteh.
Our petz are having Sunbeam Time this morning. Ash is baking her brain!
Dogs don’t get sunburned, so Ash is doing the intelligent thing. Maybe by lying quite still, she can absorb some of the brains around her.
For me this kiteh pic is one of the cutest! Good Day to you all. Sunny here. Only 28F when I went to bed last night at 11pm. Warm. :^))
It was in the 20s here overnight, but is now over 50. We went shopping for cake decorating supplies; the byos are going to decorate for a Cub Scouts project. Should be interesting ...
Sounds like fun... Cub Scout project!
Decorating cakes with military themes. We have lots of icing color jars!
Our kittehs are “fixed” too. People just keep dumping them around here and we take them in. Our newest addition to the “herd” was just neutered this week.
Guess y’all don’t wanna hear about our 62 degrees here today. ;-)
We’re in shock! Norm is around 40 degrees but we’ll take this 62, with MUCH pleasure! We know it’s short-lived.
No, good to hear of temps above 30F! LOL!
We’re tickled to death to FEEL temps above 30. LOL! It’s been colder than usual in TN this winter.
I guess one good thing about it is we should have fewer bugs this summer. They’ve gotten out of hand the past few years with the warmish winters we’ve had.
The kittehs are sure enjoying the day. Some are wandering around the farm, making sure their territories are intact, and others are flaked out around the yard like road kill, soaking up the sun. LOL!
Wet wintry mix predicted for Wed. night so they’d better enjoy it while they can. They’ll be back inside once it gets cold again.
I think it got a little above 60 here (Charlotte, NC, area). I took Frank and James out to the playground for a little while. Frank found a stick shaped a little like a pistol and shot James several times, producing dramatic demises. Then he shot White Cat, who rolled over on his back and sneezed. “White Cat died!” says Frank, in shock. But then he got up again. White Cat mostly lives across the street, but he visits us when there’s a chance of food.
Now we’re making spaghetti and meatballs for Vlad’s birthday, which is really tomorrow, but Bill and Tom will be at youth group tomorrow evening. I made sauce and got brocolli ready to cook, and now the A team, Bill and Der Prinz, are producing meatballs to their satisfaction. I’ll go back later and boil water.
I wish we had more stove burners!
