I think they will find another way to fund it.
Enter the "no-labels" party with the answers.

“I think they will find another way to fund it.”
Not with a Republican Congress. If they are smart (a big if with any politician) the Republicans will put forth their own plan, with health savings accounts and preservation of patient freedom. They need to make the democrats reveal their true position, which is all about socialism, government control, and punishing doctors, and very little about helping patients.

I dont think new healthcare stuff will be on the table unless its necessary to bury what has been done...I would think congress critters wont want to wrangle with it again any time soon...(except to kill it)

Yes, it’s a good thing. If it passes SCOTUS, it could pave the way for single-payer socialized medicine, however, which could be construed as unconstitutional as well but not on the same clear grounds.

This really isn't about law....It's about "We, the people...."
But I can see the Dem blackmail up ahead...Fed will provide "0" Federal dollars for state medicaid, hospitals, institutions, faith based organizations......anything associated with health care.

I may just have to move to Virginia.

Anytime Obama gets a b*** slap it’s a happy day in America.

I think Jim said that John is working on an update. But regarding the last freep-a-thon, he said that the increased target value for the next couple of quarters would be for the settlement payments on the Righthaven lawsuit and to replace one dead server.

There is either a severability clause contained in the legislation or there isnt, the need to have one is NOT in question. it is the ONLY way that you preserve the whole by getting rid of the offending portions. Perhaps as their last act, the Pelosi Congress will "deem" the health care law to have included the severability clause.

Thanks for the link there. It does contain one interesting little tidbit, however . . . it mentions that the U.S. Supreme Court can invalidate specific provisions of a Federal law without invalidating the entire law -- even in cases where there is no non-severability clause written into the law.

Never underestimate the establishment Republican passion for reaching across the aisle to find bipartisan solutions to our pressing problems. Since the human condition is, in their view, a pressing problem they are called upon to solve, they can never be trusted to resist progressive initiatives for long.

Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Department of Educationtheyre all unconstitutional, too, but theyre not going away in the near future. So well have to see if this holds up. Right - that's why the left is going to use this resurrect the "public option".
The courts will rule that the government cannot force you to buy a private product, so they will just try to make it a "tax" to fund a single-payer government plan.

See #141 re: severability
Sarbanes-Oxley didn’t have a severability clause either but the SCOTUS allowed the constitutional parts to stand anyway.

This now brings in the Equal Protection clause.
Why should Virginia be exempt, and the rest of not?
The Obama care is a pile of Dung.
