Barack Obama’s high-risk war wager that sent tens of thousands of U.S. troops surging into Afghanistan is showing signs of success, U.S. officials say. The raging Taliban insurgency is being defeated, but foreign troops are still years away from heading for the exit. “Our joint efforts are paying off,” said Robert Gates, U.S. Secretary of Defence and the only cabinet secretary kept on by Mr. Obama from the former Bush administration. “[I’m] convinced that our strategy is working and that we will be able to achieve key goals set out by President Barack Obama last year.”

The war against Islamic extremism will NEVER be over. They are like cockroaches. Once your house is infested the exterminator has to make regular house calls. As long as one is left to infect another person with their extreme prosylitizing philosophy of xenophobia, hate and murder they will always return.
The only question is will it be Americans that risk their lives to keep their numbers under control or do we install OUR strong leader to in nations populated by them and allow them to use whatever means their culture allows to do it?

This is the same scam 0bama/Soros/Democrats ran on 0bama Care: hold the lives of our troops hostage on various decisions until you pass their agenda.
And, make them, their families and you pay with their lives.
Besides that, the Left gets a few more scalps and a few less folks against them, so it’s a quantum positive variable for the 0bama/Soros/Reid/Pelosi/Clinton/Biden/Democrats.

You may be right.
But... We fight them there or we fight them here. They will not stop. They are not driven by a national government that we can destroy. They are driven by a religious conviction that replicates like metastasizing cancer cells. If we withdraw troops, we lose. If we only try to keep the pressure on hoping they'll change, we lose. If we turn the effort over to a weak regime, we lose.
There are only two solutions. Continue to fight them ourselves forever or allow a powerful and determined local government to fight them forever. America will choose one or the other or will be devestated by them.
