Here are some photos of our yard after last night's storm. We got about a foot or so of snow. Perhaps 15 when it's all done. The winds up have gusts to and sometimes exceeding 50 miles an hour today. Post your photos and stories. Luckily no trees fell on wires or our house! And we didn't lose power.

Not anymore! Yahoo! We are REDDER than RED!
Now I remember why I moved to central Texas!
You have a beautiful piece of property! I’m sure the spring thaw will be welcome and even more gorgeous.
We are closer to the Lake, but it is looking pretty high! Kewaskum is pretty; the ski slope must be happy!
“Glue” is right! WHen it rains firs there and the temp drops it is simply icy for weeks.
Up here in NW WI, we didn’t get the ice, so there’s nothing so purty to take pics of. Just about a foot more snow than there was yesterday morning.
My neighbor plowed out my driveway this morning, though! I was all set to get offended, but he said he didn’t want to have to chip me out after I’d frozen into a popsicle while trying to blow out the snow in the -40 wind chill. They don’t drink, so I guess I’ll have to smoke them some ribs or something.
That last pic looks like a great sled run.
Thanks. When we bought this house, the inside was straight out of a 70’s movie, that can be fixed. It was the yard that sold us, 2 acres. We still have a harvest gold bathroom. You can change the shag carpet, you can’t change your view.
We had a few snowflakes fall south of Birmingham, AL earlier today.
Yes, your house is beautiful! May I ask if you live anywhere near Union Township in Jasper County? I have many ancestors there.
North Orange County, Calif. Clear skies, 86 degrees.
Your property is GORGEOUS! I do miss the snow but, after 19 years in California and 1 in AZ, my blood has thinned. It is 72 and sunny on our patio right now. Enjoy the snow! My favorite things was to go sledding/tobogganing at the golf courses around our area in the Midwest. :)
Every night, we can hear the ski slope making snow, and can see the glow from the lights they use. We’re about 5 miles from there. I’m sure they are thrilled!
Beautiful and awesome! Thanks for posting.
“-40 wind chill”
Ouch. You’d have 3 minutes before frost bite starts setting in.
Stay warm.
There just isn’t anything quite like a big, pretty snow. Everything’s entirely different, even the sounds or lack thereof: like hearing your favorite color. For just that one second when you perk up and listen to to the hush of a snow, you don’t even breathe. And if it’s still snowing, or blowing, you can hear the snowflakes falling on trees, twigs and ground.
It really didn’t turn to ice. It went from rain to snow almost immediately. So, the snow just adhered to the trees which added weight. You should have seen some of our birch trees, their branches were dragging on the ground. Not one of them broke.
I’d take snow any day that ice! I saw the damage in Kentucky/Tenn from that ice storm they got a couple of winters ago. It was awful.
Clear, sunny and 70 degrees here as I type this.
