Couldn’t live with the sins of his father? How sad for his family.

Sad. The story says that he reported his father to the authorities the day after he confessed to his two sons.

I would imagine he just couldn't take any more pressure. Authorities threatening to arrest him because he should have known about the scam earlier. Tort lawyers suing him in hopes of getting in on the action. Friends who were his father's victims lamenting the loss of their life savings.

Still, suicide is not the answer.

His 2-year-old son was sleeping in the next bedroom, the officials said.

The problem with hanging is you have a few minutes to reconsider your decision while you strangle.

Just wow——imagine all that weight on Bernie himself and now his son off’s himself. Bernie gets what he deserves but he is still human and I can’t imagine he has much will to live at this point and after this personal family tragedy.
Lord have mercy on them all and the victims most especially.

In February, Mark Madoff's wife petitioned a court to change her last name and the last names of their two children, saying her family had gotten threats...

But he hanged himself with a dog leash in a loft apartment, when he could have fallen out a window....

I’m sad for the little boy who lost his Daddy.

The worst thing in the world is to outlive your child, and this worst feeling in the world is being felt this second in prison by a Bernie Madoff. Even worse is that he knows he caused his son’s death. Kinda makes me smile.

Perhaps this was an assisted suicide.

Dear God this family has been though Hell. Yes he was criminal and ruined many lives but to lose a child before you pass away is the WORST.

How is what Madoff did any worse than what our government does?

FREE BERNIE MADOFF!

Madoff’s evil. This son had the conscience his father lacked and he had nothing to with it, or his father and his mother.
Very sad. May his soul rest in peace and prayers for his very young children.
