Sturgeon Bay police arrested a man for allegedly abducting a 16-year-old girl from Houston.
The police chief says about a month ago the girl left willingly with 21-year-old Kevin Villanueva, who they say is an illegal immigrant from Honduras.
The chief says the two were living in a Sturgeon Bay apartment, but Thursday night they had an argument and she went to the police department.
Police arrested Villanueva, who's in the Door County Jail awaiting a court hearing Monday.
Police say arrangements are being made to return the girl to Houston.

21 to 16 is not a huge difference. 17 is legal.
I suppose the same sort of person who disregards the laws of a country regarding illegal entry also disregards the culture and laws of a country regarding age of consent etc.

Most of the time, the police won’t lift a finger in a case like this, where the sex is “consensual.” They say that the prosecutor won’t bring it to trial anyway.

But there is a huge difference betweeen this and preying on a little kid -— it would be legal in a lot of states -— indeed, it would be legal in TX if they got married.

On another note, I just read a disgusting story about a Columbia professor who blogs for the Huffington post who was having an incestuous relationship with his own daughter (who was over the age of 18). Talk about a whole other culture...

No, but it is not illegal at age 17, which was apparently a few months away for this girl.
And I do draw a distinction between a man who is an asshole (and a criminal) who has a consensual affair with a 16 year old girl (who IS old enough to know better and, in most states, old enough to consent to the relationship) and a pedophile who goes after little kids.
